I suppose the undergrad law student would probably be better prepared, experienced and have more gravitas than Suella Braverman. Even worse, this incompetent isn’t even the most incompetent and unsuitable of this batch of ministerial midgets: the entire government have been beyond a joke since Boris sacked off any of the plausibly competent adults.
It rather annoys me that they refer to illegal immigrants meaning asylum seekers. Asylum seekers will report to the authorities at the first opportunity as they want to claim asylum under international law. Those looking to work illegally were turn up hidden in the back of a container. The last thing they want is to be discovered.
The cynic in me would suggest that they’re doing this to benefit their buddies who would be best positioned to take advantage of any volatility they create…
