It doesn’t matter whether it is MP only or with members, they wouldn’t have gone to a leadership election if there was one candidate each faction would agree to. Boris’s camp don’t want Rishi. Rishi doesn’t want Boris back. Those who competed for the leadership in the summer want another shot so won’t agree to any other candidate.

He put the country’s future up on a bet over an issue he he didnt understand and didnt have the tools to fight. The sort blame for Cameron is different than that reserved for those used Brexit for personal gain like Boris and May, but there is no one more responsible for it than him.
Cameron’s story will be seen in time as very similar to that of the miscalculation Austria’s Franz Joseph made in declaring war against Serbia to kick off WWI and resulting in the dissolution of his empire.
