[A choice of Johnson or Trump, I would go for Johnson each time. As much a I don’t like him, I can’t see him go to the deepest lengths that Trump would.

‘Boris Johnson was actually the prime minister that took us out of Brexit’.
Maybe he’s just misunderstood
yep.
its the same the world over…
‘make america great again’
‘time for change’
all this ‘the future starts now’ kind of guff is pathetic and frames modern western society…as if it all needs to be ripped up and started again by the last remaining saviors of the west…
its pathetic…id probably instantly vote for the party that came out with a snappy slogan that encompassed the following train of thought;
‘we live in a pretty comfortable society that needs careful managing to assist the needy and attend our living enviroment, but otherwise we want to keep the show rolling with what we have’
‘we have no intention of reducing any of your taxes, you will personally be roughly the same position still when we take over, but we will look to spend that tax pool more efficiently, we wont cut any red tape, but will look to employ local people to attend to most matters that require red tape, in better time’
‘we live in a great society and understand the importance and responsibility of nuturing it’
fuck this ‘you need us becuase everything needs to start again’ shite
It has not been mentioned on here yet I don’t think…
There is a possibility, and it is being suggested because stranger things in life happened… Can you just imagine if he becomes PM again, goes on a campaign trail for next GE… and hauls the f***in Conservatives over the line in front of Labour, so we get to suffer him for a further 4years… Eeeeek
Sadly for her, not as big a jackpot as before she tanked the pound
I think if Johnson became leader again, there would be around 20 Tory MPs would would immediately resign the whip, and either defect to another party or represent their constituents as independents.
In reality, Brady and the 1922 committee are not going to let Boris back. They won’t let him. They know he is a car crash.
Let’s hope so for all our sake…
I sense a wager……
I think commentators believe the figure would be around half a dozen MPs as being a more realistic number. It will be interesting to see how that moves over the next few days.
Although betting sites seem to have made him favourite most of the reports I’ve seen this evening have Johnson still not much higher than he was reported to be yesterday. The main one I’ve seen giving him around 60 votes has close links to him. Most of the others are below 50.
For example, the Times has just given the following tally of public and/ or confirmed backers;
Sunak: 84
Johnson: 44
Mordaunt: 21

This follows on from the Telegraph making the same claim this morning. Given we all expect him to walk the members vote, and his backers have been claiming he has the 100 votes in the bag, why would there be such a push to offer a deal to Rishi at this stage ?
Still around another 200 MPs in play (I think two more have since confirmed they are backing Sunak so he is creeping towards the first hurdle.) so Johnson could easily get the votes he needs (it is expected Mordant may get just below 100 as she has lost a couple of votes already to Johnson and isn’t seen as being likely to pull votes from anyone else.
This is such a weird process
Two Mark Blyth videos just came up in my YT feed…
Both a few years old now, and I’ve watched them before…both along the lines of why people in western democracies vote against their economic interests.
Spooky…
So if it’s the blonde ballbag versus the billionaire, but the ballbag is way behind, albeit over 100…will he stand aside?
I wish we’d just submerge the fuckers in water to see if either of them is a duck.
Yeah but which is witch?
…because they are making it up as they go along
