Let people in! Let them work. Add to the fabric of the country. It applies both here in the States and in the UK.
The tiny minority who are up to no good, boot them out. But surely the overwhelming majority just want to come, find work, and make a life for themselves. At that point, good luck to them!
It’s just noticeable that on these little boats, it seems to be all young, single men…no families…I’ve no problem if they work…but in a documentary, a few months back, they interviewed some of these men on a French beach…why do you want to go to Britain!!!..the answer…Benefits, houses…didnt look as if these people wanted to work and contribute…just an observation…
Apparently we are seeing an incremental increase in Albanian “asylum” seekers. Apparently 95% are young single males. What are they seeking asylum from exactly? I don’t think it is a repressive regime particularly. Is there religious persecution? There is relative poverty for sure.
This is concerning though if it is contributing to this flow of young males from Albania.
Big difference between asylum and economic migration.
The former is acceptable, not the latter while we have homeless veterans or homeless anyone for that matter.

Thats a false equivalence. our failure to tackle homelessness particularly amongst our veterans has nothing to do with immigration and everything to do with the choices made by our own government because of its ideology.
I wouldn’t bother paying attention to tv documentaries - just look at the hatchet jobs they do to ordinary benefit claimants for example.
Those coming here usually do want to work but often face a number of barriers that prevent them from finding sustainable employment.
