Except they haven’t been abandoned here have they? They’ve made the choice to come here and paid a lot of money to do so.
They’ve been fed, clothed and kept warm in hotels but still cry-arse about alleged poor food etc in a country where hundreds of thousands of kids are living in poverty and wondering if they’ll ever get a hot meal.
They can get to fuck.
Does that only apply to men in their early 20’s?
The vast majority, yes.
Any other good stories in the Daily Express these days?
Don’t know fella, can’t remember the last time I bought a paper.
No, but they would have been in the other countries you cite. Whereas on the other hand many tend to have familial ties here and/or speak the language.
This has got to be a pisstake. I take it you’ve never actually taken a look at what their living conditions are like.
Not their fault. Same abusers in both cases.
And you know this how? And of course the fact you may speak some English is a good enough reason to risk your life in an overcrowded dinghy in the middle of the night.
No I haven’t mate. I generally have to be a paying guest if I want to see what conditions are like in a 4 or 5 star hotel.
I’ll assume you’ve seen it for yourself though and can confirm the food is of a poor standard.
Clearly you prefer to inject the right wing tabloids intravenously.

Go on fella, just call me a bigot…a racist…a xenophobe…whatever you want, I don’t mind. It’s the default position whenever somebody has an opposing view on the tens of thousands of economic migrants seeking ‘asylum’ every year, isn’t it? You know, all those men being persecuted in their homelands once they reach 21.

No one is calling you a racist, so you can drop that strawman right away. You starting point here is a false premise, and you are swallowing and regurgitating nonsense. Of course you are entitled to your opinion, and everyone is entitled to point out that your opinion is bullshit.
This is really, really simple.
If they are economic migrants, process their claim and send them back. Job done.
The reason why this is not happening is because the Tories have broken our asylum system. On purpose, because it creates an enemy to focus on. The ‘small boats crisis’ is easily solvable. Reintroduce legal routes of entry, and then process claims.
Also, I hate to break this to you, but have a little think for a minute about why it seems only the fit young men make it over. What do you think might happen to the women and children en route. No, it isn’t a pleasant thought, is it? Poor fuckers.
I’m not going to label you any of those things. I will, however, ask you one simple question:
Why are you so opposed to a relatively small number of people entering the country every year?
Because the country is fucked mate. Socially and economically. The support network doesn’t exist. Housing, schooling, healthcare, policing, all on it’s arse with no chance of improvement in the foreseeable future.
I’m all for the right people coming in in the right areas in the right numbers. That’s not what we’re seeing.
You’re right that the country’s fucked. And it’s fucked because of the Tories, not the migrants.
I generally have to be a paying guest if I want to see what conditions are like in a 4 or 5 star hotel.
If you want to know what conditions are like for people being held in hotel rooms. Go to a budget hotel and move into a room designed for one or two people with four people you don’t know, including fucking off any safeguarding for any children present. You aren’t allowed out. Nobody is allowed in. For months. A couple of times a day a cheese sandwich is pushed under the door. There is nowhere to wash clothes. No opportunity to exercise.
The reason why quite a few people have jumped straight to the ‘what right wing shit are you reading’ line, is because these ideas - that Asylum Seekers are lording it in luxury hotels is taken straight from rags like the Mail and the Express. It’s obviously bullshit. These people are not on a fucking expense account at the Hilton. Is a fucking grim existence, and one the Tories are cultivating deliberately, because - if you are anything to go by - demonising and othering the most vulnerable people in society works.
I’m all for the right people coming in in the right areas in the right numbers. That’s not what we’re seeing.
Bingo. The country need migrants. We’re an aging population with a desperate need for a supply of working age people.
What we’re seeing is a direct result of the Tory party breaking the system. On purpose.
Here is a sobering thought.
Over the last few years over 200 children placed in hotels run by contractors (who have been given those contracts by the government) have….disappeared.
200 kids. Gone. Most likely into criminal gangs, exploitation and the sex trade.
And people have got the fucking nerve to blame the victims. This is all the Government’s fault. It’s inhumane to the point of obscenity. Point the finger at the right people.
No one is calling you a racist, so you can drop that strawman right away.
I think the implication is pretty clear as soon as ‘right-wing press’ is brought into the argument.
Also, I hate to break this to you, but have a little think for a minute about why it seems only the fit young men make it over. What do you think might happen to the women and children en route. No, it isn’t a pleasant thought, is it? Poor fuckers
I don’t know what might happen to them. You tell me.

If I thought you were a racist, I’d call you a racist.
Like most people who say stuff like this, you just don’t know what you are talking about. You’re just regurgitating ideas that are demonstrably nonsense.
I don’t know what might happen to them. You tell me.
They aren’t making it here. Walking and busking your way across a continent is hard, dangerous work. In a lot of cases they are being picked off by criminal gangs. From there, I’ll leave it to your imagination. It’s late, and I could do without the nightmares.
Here is a sobering thought.

Where do these criminal gangs originate?
Like most people who say stuff like this, you just don’t know what you are talking about. You’re just regurgitating ideas that are demonstrably nonsense.
Don’t tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about. I know there are tens of thousands of ‘asylum seekers’ i.e economic migrants being accommodated up and down the country at enormous expense to the taxpayer.
They have no right to be here. They are here on a false premise because very few of them face persecution in their homeland. They are economic migrants.
They have travelled through safe countries to get here. Not the actions of persecuted people or those fleeing war.
There will inevitably be criminals amongst them. There have already been several cases of murder committed by ‘asylum seekers’.
You can blame the Tory’s as much as you like but it will be no different under Labour.
if I’d fled my country of birth because I was being persecuted
Ironically these tend to make the absolute best migrants. Totally committed to their new country, grateful (unless given the locked up treatment that the Tories think equates to being ‘tough’ on immigration) and often make really outsized contributions to their country. If anything being tough on immigration should be about avoiding the economic migrants, students and extended family migrants who come primarily for a cushy life.
