Farage becoming leader is a gift to Sir Keir. Further fracturing of the right wing voteā€¦

Canā€™t stand Farage but the thought of him sitting on the opposition benches alongside Corbyn gives me a wry smile of anticipation. You couldnā€™t make it upā€¦

They do have one thing in common though. They both hate the EU.

ā€˜This is absolutely fucking hilarious.ā€™ ā€¦ or mildly amusing.

Fascinating thought. Do you honestly believe the tories would hand over a full report on how they screwed the country?

With the current government being as thick as several short planks a Gordon Brown style nite would come as no surprise and with it 10 years of easy excuses.

Auntie seems all in on Farage - left wing conspiritors?

Agreed. The amount of airtime they dedicate to this complete waste of space is ridiculous.

Maybe it says something to the utter certainty of the likely outcome, and so reporting on utterly inconsequential individuals, is all thereā€™s left to doā€¦

The only positive is that the more exposure Farage and Reform receive, the more the rightwing vote gets divided.

I think he, Farage, has realised this is his last chance. If labour get in, which is looking increasingly likely, iā€™d like to hope heā€™ll get far less airtime on the Beeb than he currently does. He can however keep playing top dog on GB News until the regulator grows some balls.

Personally I find this a bit unpleasant.

It is picking out an obviously deprived area, with many legitimate concerns that wont be highlighted in this stunt. It is simply ripe for exploitation and to be put up for ugly scrutiny.

Meanwhile, the similar minded wealthier / ā€œgentleā€ folk, can point and say but weā€™re not like them - though they do have a pointā€¦

edit / p.s. I hope I got the right town, I assume this is the one heā€™s running forā€¦

Germany doesnā€™t have anywhere near the same concentration of population and wealth that the UK does with London and the areas around it. Berlin has, what, 5% of the total population? Germany is probably as close to the ideal for using PR as any country I can think of.

Labour could do lot worse than putting her image on billboards

Nope of course you cannot achieve everything in 4 or 5 years but people need to see hope and tangible milestones are important. While building say 50,000 affordable housing is not possible in 4 years, people will be inspired if by the end of the first term, they would have identify the area and land to build those units, engage possible developers and give a good timeline on reaching those 50k if given mandates for reelection.

Under promise, over deliver is always a strategy but in a society that has supposedly suffered for years under Conservatives, the people coming full force to vote for a change not to just hear, oh nothing will change much.

Milestones and tangible achievement even in small scales are important for reelection.

Notso following the party line this morning: turn every question into scaremongering about Labour.

Still another four weeks of this to go.

FT reporting 3 donors to the conservatives have decided not to give funds for their election campaign following polling they have had done. A fourth is also considering whether to donate money towards it.

They should. Thereā€™s a traditional British comedy in this somewhere.

A cross between Fawlty Towers and Some Mothers do have em is my guess.

I guess the ROI numbers are looking rather grim.

Not that thereā€™s anything wrong with thatā€¦
