UK Politics Thread (Part 4)

True, I was talking of Austerity of course. The aim being to drive public services into the gutter. Job done I think. A little quiet corruption on the side too.

I don’t think Cameron wanted that either. I think he genuinely believed that bringing in the social and private sectors to have more involvement would lead to improved services.

Then I would need to revise my statement to ā€œachieving what other Conservatives wantedā€

Secondly, to me, that kind of makes him a bit delusional in my eyes. Having a belief founded on very little understanding of the intricacies of the problem.

I found this blog entry regarding UK political parties and the demographics of who actually votes for them. It’s quite a long read, but I found it quite informative.

TLDR: Labour should be appealing to the Professional/Managerial Class, not Reform voters.

Bit quiet in here…

Haha @redfanman

I heard that on the car radio this morning. Jordan is a bit of a prick but I agreed 100% with everything he said. Neville is a fucking opinionated manc rat who should STFU.

No he isn’t. Neville is absolutely, 100% correct.

As for the Union Jack on his development site, it’s his site, he can do what the fuck he wants. If someone if flying a flag on his property and he doesn’t want that, he has every right to take it down.

Well we’ll have to disagree.

Why not just take it down and say fuck all if he’s that bothered about a flag? Nah, let’s put it out there on a fucking podcast in the hope of pats on the back. He’s a fucking prick, always has been always will be.

Absolutely 100% he’s right to say what he did. Let’s not pretend that these flags suddenly appeared in a great wave of patriotism. It’s clear the way some people are using it in a divisive way, and disingenuous to pretend otherwise.

Yeah…nah…

Good on him, especially coz he knew he was gonna get slammed by flag-shagging deadshits of the kind that flooded into the YT comments.

Left and right are being intentionally pulled further apart by bad faith actors. How unsurprising that a fuckwad like Jordan missed the point.

Let’s just be honest. It’s not ā€˜angry middle-aged white men’ to blame for the situation we’re in.

You’re right.

They’re not angry.

Gary Neville talked about all the years he has owned property, and nobody felt the need to put up a flag during that time.

So the question must be asked, what prompted it now?

If you want to be innocent and naive about it, perhaps it was someone who just loves and supports their country - diverse, multicultural, as is - and it was a pure expression with no undercurrent.

Meanwhile, here on planet earth, it was almost certainly driven by an agenda that has a fair chance (can’t believe I’m saying this) of putting Nigel Farage in 10 Downing Street before too long.

Ugh.

Who is Britian? Someone we know?

Good question.

Do the Tories even know the nation?

This is extremely well made propaganda and I can even forgive the heart-string pulling music (usually I categorically loath such emotional manipulation).
No comment on their policies. I know a bit of course, but only in the broad sense and haven’t studied the UK Greens closely enough.

But my oh my, hats off for this delivery, this…message (because delivery means little without an attractive message) …

Honestly, this was fine art almost:

Now, I wouldn’t vote for them if I lived in the UK due to First Past the Post system, but that’s not my point. Just nice to see a longer PR video that is void of vulgarity in this day and age.

Zack Polanski has been getting a lot more media coverage of late, which is welcome I think. But, there’s also the coincidence that splitting the traditional left vote suits certain parties more than others. They still have some distance to go to ve condidered a serious party across the entire UK unfortunately.
