I watched this speech and thought he was great.

It feels like a breath of fresh air and I imagine there are millions out there hankering for that.

Love that

Know nothing about him, but he certainly comes over very well and even sounds genuine,a rarity among politicians around the world.
He may have been a very astute pick!

Itā€™s like watching YouTubeā€™s of ederson and ugarte or any 6 for that matter.

I have to admit that I hadnā€™t even heard of Tim Walz until a couple of days ago. Iā€™m just curious as to why, if he is such an affable likable guy, that he wasnā€™t encouraged to run for president?

Because, as VP, Harris was automatically next in line and dropping her for a white guy would have smacked of discrimination.

I was thinking more in general. I got the impression that the Democrats supported Biden because they didnā€™t think that there was anyone else in the party who connect with the public.

Probably just keeps hitting auto-complete suggestions these days and sees where it takes him.

Iā€™m in Canada and recently discovered during lunch that a coworker who is second gen Asian Canadian believes in post birth abortions and ā€˜weā€™ need to stop the government from allowing it. Heā€™s deep in church activities. Needless to say we had a rather heated lunch then never touched on this matter again. I said I would read more on it, but I doubt he does.

Troubling, cause otherwise heā€™s a nice, soft spoken scientist.

Did you explain that itā€™s an oxymoron?

Where is this post birth abortion rubbish coming from? It is murder and I donā€™t think as ridiculous as America is, no state would have legalize that.

There is of course scholar papers which argue under that term but essentially infant euthanasia and the main argument is that since abortion rights argued that killing a foetus is not murder because it is a mass of matter with no conscience of its own, they drew that parallel that newly born infants too have no conscience of its own so infant euthanasia can be seen as the same as foetal abortion. They later claimed that they never wrote the paper to argue for itā€™s legality but purely from a philosophical view.

While I am against abortion after a certain term except in cases of abnormalities or risk to the mothers to continue the pregnancy or result of crime, this parallel is ridiculous. Murder has legal consequences.

Apart from the linguistic absurdity of ā€œpost birth abortionsā€, what on earth would the motive be?
Why would Democrats want to murder babies? How would it be an advantage for them?
