Four incidents in eight years isn’t bad.
I used to get at least four a day with the National Front back in the Seventies and early Eighties.

Not correct. I live in the US.
Yeah, but you don’t spam this thread 24/7.
Listening to a die hard MAGA fan at the weekend. The very first and most original comment was uttered from 2016 that a few of my colleagues from the medical industry made - “I’m voting for Trump because he’s not a politician. He’s a good businesses man and will run the US like one of his businesses. We’ll do well under him”. 3 or 4 very educated team members voted for him in 2016 based on that comment.
This same MAGA person at the weekend began with that statement. And it does make sense unless you’ve done due diligence and found out that Trump’s gone bankrupt 6 times, was given a golden spoon start in life yet still screwed up. Not such a great businessman. Problem is most of the US population does no research and are gullible.
MAGA = Make Americans Gullible Again.
That in response to me? No. But I’ve found it to be a good source of information on non-LFC content, so started to lurk a bit more lately.
She is also operating in a mode of don’t get distracted by taking bait, which is quite reasonably how they are viewing the complaints from the establishment press. The arguments from the press are that voters are being left critically uninformed about what she stands for if they, the 4th estate, does not have the opportunity to vet her in a formal sit down and ask her tough questions. But few people take that seriously anymore. How much importance did they place on making sure people understood Clinton’s policy platform? How much effort are they making to hold the other guy in the race to these same standards of policy clarity? What do they ask of her with the already considerable access to her they have? They have imbeds in her campaign who get access to her on an almost daily basis and day after day it is horse race questions and prompts to respond to some dumb shit Trump has said, NOT the questions they keep telling us we need answers to.
The establishment press are grappling with the existential issue of realizing this cycle is the first where they really are not needed at all for a candidate to get out their message. And them no longer being the primary source of connection between the candidate and the people, they have repeatedly failed to demonstrate the value they have in other regards. If Kamala thinks her path to success is to convince undecided voters she is better for the economy than Trump is, what is a better path to that? Continuing the active campaign she and Walz are already running where she controls her message and gets it amplified through modern channels, or doing a sit down with one of the establishment outlets who spent the last 3 and half years covering a good economy as being a bad one (who will ask her to name the day she turned black)?
I’d do exactly that.
Make them look like the utter frauds they undoubtedly are.
That is the other retort - she actually has. Even if you ignore stuff like the Oprah townhall, in the last few weeks she has done a sit down with CNN, the debate, a sit down with the biggest local journo in Philly, and sat with the NABJ. But the issue is, the NYT don’t really mean “how will voters know what she thinks if she doesn’t grant the press interviews”. It means “we specifically want access and if you don’t give it to us we will throw a tantrum and try to derail your campaign.”
They have thrown a criticism out into the world and as it isnt actually real, there isnt a way to satisfy it by doing the things they claim to be asking her to do.
there isnt a way to satisfy it by doing the things they claim to be asking her to do.
Which is why she has to show them up for what they are.
Looks like the effort to make Nebraska winner-takes-all has failed, though not for the very obvious reason that were they to do that, it would be the last time anyone had ever paid any attention at all to Nebraska.
That’s at least 75 million of your fellow Americans, you must have a miserable time walking out you front door if you truly believe that. It pretty much sums up the division in the country from at least the pov of negative retoric.
Do you not understand how pathetic it is to speak like that to a brown immigrant about a voting block who chant “send them home” at rallies in celebration of promises to denaturalize people (who? we dont actually know. We just know it will be anyone who doesnt meet their definition of American).
Anyone who wants to claim Trump is a better choice for reason x-z, well I guess that is just part of democracy. But anyone who does that has to own the overt racism and appeals to Naziism that this campaign is being run on. And anyone who wont acknowledge that of their choice can get fucked and is as unserious and dishonest as they are indecent.
I just moved to Nashville last month from
Chicago.
Having said that, it will probably come down to 4000 votes somewhere,
I think of all the active participants in this thread, only @LuisSuarez and @Limiescouse actually live in the US, no? Bit difficult for the thread to be representative of US voters at large.
Hello from Indiana!
I’m really not in the USA, just using the moniker to throw you tossers off.
I’m Dutch reincarnated!
And excuse for why this doesnt count in 3…2…1…

Radio interviews are not interviews and if a tree falls in the forest it doesn’t make a sound and they’re eating dogs
Unfortunately, @cynicaloldgit got it on the nose. I was referring to those who are active in this thread.
Although that said, by not saying much you’re also in your way providing that bit of missing representation, given how many people in the country are also not particularly vocal on politics…
Ah yes I completely blanked on you, sorry!
I 100% do remember you’re from Indiana, as you’re pretty much the only person I’ve ever interacted with who’s said they’re from Indiana.
Lies, you’re not half as grumpy and cantankerous!
