Trumps superpower is lying so belligerently so constantly that no one, not even his supporters believe what he says. We are then all left to our own devices to decide what he’s honest about and what he’s just riffing about. The likes of Luis Suarez listen to him saying he intends to send anyone “unamerican” to concentration camps but he doesn’t hear it because he simply chooses to believe a different version of the man who agrees with the things he wants and wouldn’t do the things he thinks is not a good idea. (Of course, typically a perspective heavily influenced by ignoring the various awful shit he did while in office last time)
But this is a man who had fascist authoritarian impulses when in power last time and was restrained only by the fact he staffed his administration with enough normies who simply weren’t willing to cross that rubicon. Next time they won’t be in that position. They have spent the last 4 years doing deep personnel checks to find the staff they’d need to run the administration like that this time should they get in.
It edits in and out, I guess he’s talking about a purge? It wouldn’t amaze me if his detractors actually think this will be one of his policies. Stupid thing to say out loud and that’s assuming he didn’t add significant information in the unedited version, yet its something that’s been “suggested” for of tongue in cheek for decades, e.g. let the criminals wipe themselves out. Nobody really takes that seriously,
He’s a candidate for president of the United States. Of course people are going to analyse what he says at a rally. Why shouldn’t we take it seriously?
Bugger me, spend a weekend away kitesurfing abd being dragged aroundby a van while on a skim board, trying my hardest not to piss in my wetsuit cause of the shitty cold weather and i come back to this
I even missed the united drubbingf
Reported, the lot of you, and everyones cards are marked. @sbym you can keep the chocolate digestives
Crazy how right before every election the right wing starts talking about a massive crime wave and an immigration crisis, regardless of what the trurh really is.
This is the one thing that concerns me. Racism and misogyny still run rampant in this country, especially among the less educated, and in more rural areas. However, there are a number of men, regardless of education, who will never pull the lever for a woman, and ESPECIALLY a black woman.
We are at least a generation away from losing many elder men who still think this way, just hope we can make it that far.
