This false messaging, disinformation, and outright lies about the federal response to this āonce in a lifetimeā disaster really boils my piss.
I have friends who live in some of the most devastated areas, one Iāve yet to hear from. Fuckwads like Gaetz (the pedo) are playing politics with peopleās lives. It absolutely disgusts me, and Iām not sure that if I ever encountered that asshat I real life, that I wouldnāt deck him where he stood. Unfortunately, itās not just him. Much of Magaworld is running with these blatant lies. Forsaking of peopleās wellbeing for your own political gain. Sums up the Trump GOP to a tee.

I am not one to ever downplay their lying, but as much as a lot of this is a new breed of up is down, black is white lying, I do think there is something else going on as well. I think a lot it is how profoundly ignorant a lot of MAGA world are about how anything works. BY the time we get to anything involving a government response, they have absolutely zero frame of reference for what is supposed to happen, and what an effective response would look like. They then view any images that are discomforting, any obstacle or hardship that isnāt immediately addressed, as a failure of a response.
You see it a bit on how common it is for the goal posts to shift when people are challenged. If it was just about the lie they would stand their ground on FEMA not being there at all, but as they are just so committed to the idea that the response has been inadequate, with no idea of what an adequate response is supposed to look like, there is nothing you can say about what is already being done that will be viewed as enough.
They want FEAM on the ground.
FEMA are already there and, more importantly, coordinating with local authorities to give them they support they need

I think itās a very valuable insight into how the minds of a lot of people work (or donāt, Iām sure some would say). Iām not sure what actions one can implement in public communications of the back of this, but at the very least, I think it reveals a lot about what needs to be communicated to the public in times like these in order to reassure people, propaganda otherwise or not.
