Just a minor point - none of the offshore wind projects in the NJ area have actually been built yet. A group were approved to move to installation this summer.

Cant beat moorland with large swathes of farmed pine forest in various stages of its life cycle, none of which is particularly aesthetic or of any actual environmental benefit.

This week, two major “national” papers, first the LA Times then yesterday Washington Post, announced that ownership (in the case of the Times) or executive leadership (WaPo, although it was probably Bezos directing it) had decided they would break with tradition and not permit the editorial board to issue a Presidential Endorsement.
Probably the key lesson from Timothy Snyder’s On Tyranny is “do not comply in advance” and I think the lack of backbone to follow this in too many institutions is the only reason we are where we are today, with a man who got into power by accepting help from an adversarial foreign power, sold our foreign policy to all bidders (not even the highest bidder), and who has already tried to steal one election he lost, is a toss up from being voted back in.
