I think it’s a pretty powerful statement itself by Harris to reject the invitation of Rogan despite him being probably the biggest podcaster in the world.
The guy is an increasingly far-right conspiracy theorist who hides behind a “I don’t know I’m just asking questions, I’m an idiot don’t listen to me” facade.
He spread misinformation about Covid that likely killed some of his listeners, he talks about the deep state and great replacement theory, he believes every dumb right-wing troll on twitter as long as besmirches people he doesn’t like and has been openly supporting Trump for at least two years now.
Trump goes on and gets an easy ride, same with other Trump morons like Musk, whereas Rogan would have just hit Harris repeatedly with gotcha questions and later mischaracterized whatever she said to him in order to suit his agenda.
Harris, in my opinion wisely, has kept her distance from Rogan meaning that at least one of the presidential candidates has not legitimized the world’s biggest conspiracy theorist.
Also, not that I watch it, but didn’t Harris just go on SNL? And she did Call Her Daddy which is the second biggest podcast on Spotify (behind Rogan) but has a much more left-leaning audience? She’s not hiding from the spotlight.
That it frightening. I saw the poll and tried to rationalise it. The Soviet block is understandable and similarly the smaller northern countries. The outliers seem to be Poland, Italy, Spain and of course the UK….
Trump has proven time and again that he’s only running to dodge all his charges and that he cares little for the American public. It’s also clear when he says things like this on stage that the stress from those charges this close to the election has really got to him.
I’m hoping today is a lovely day for the forces of good.
I think you could make a case for many others, but for Taylor Swift, a red-state girl whose roots are in country music, whose advisers warned her against making any endorsements in 2018/2020 (if I recall correctly)?
I think this one is firmly in the camp of what she genuinely believes.
