Atleast there was an excuse before that Trump wouldn’t be winning the popular vote.
He’s winning that as well as it stands now.

Sigh. I remember what a body blow it felt like last time. But now I feel that something a number of us didn’t want has happened (this was largely predicted, mind). So we work with what we have.
Refusing to engage with the new lay of the land just because it isn’t our chosen one is a waste of physical and emotional energies.
If Kamala don’t win Penn, its over isn’t it?
As I said. This is what the US electorate is.
I take no joy in winning the korma bet with @Alright_Now_Legend
From what i heard, the Porto Rican community are usually Democrat voters and Mexican communities vote Democrat as well.
What is looking likely guys and gals? I am too scared to switch on the tv.
And whats different is Trump is not just winning electoral, he is likely to win the popular vote too. What a strange country indeed.
With the likes of Orban, Fico and the rest of the far-right coming into power, Europe is fucked as well.
Everyone is going to fend for themselves.
I’m betting there are atleast 5% of people who voted for trump voting for the laughs and banter.
I might have asked this before, but if Trump wins, does his first term count or does he gets a chance at 2 terms again?
He’s for the abolition of term limits.
It’s official.
@Maria pretty sure it’s going for Trump
The US is just a macro version of religious people: believing in a book written centuries ago by normal people given god-like reverence, and unable to move with the times.
The book cannot change because it was written by gods; every word in the book must also be taken at face value.
The US is a country that is permanently in paralysis.
214-247
That has a high bar to get changed.
Edit: also, if it happens it happens, fretting about it does us no good unless we have the ability to materially affect the outcome.
If I was shocked the first time round he beat Hillary, this time round, I am beyond words because firstly, he is a criminal. And for people who have seen him the first time round and now coming out not only putting him as President, he also won the popular vote which he was not able to last 2 elections. I know most on the other side will lament all the propaganda and fake news etc but while its the right of anyone to say anything they feel, I think that while there are plenty of idiots in the US, I think 70m cannot be idiots all at once, just that Trump hits the right notes with them. Ridiculous but well…just when I thought the USA cannot go down further…
There are net zero of philosophy of said book that they follow. Zero kindness, zero humility, in fact they do the exact opposite.
Omg! I wanna go and hide Underground for the next 4 years. I really thought Kamala was going to win this election by a very slim margin.
I am no fan of Kamala Harris, but, she seemed a better alternative to Trump. My candidate was Dr Jill Stein (if i was US citizen).
I haven’t been in the US as long as some other expats here, only a couple years, but I find Americans generally warm and welcoming.
Is there any country in Europe or South America that hasn’t either flirted with, got too close, or outright elected a dipshit right-wing equivalent over the last decade?
Americans (or the “electorate”) are not the problem (nor Palestinians/Arabs “refusing” to vote, nor those pesky Latinos refusing to behave because they’re “family orientated”). The problem starts, and the buck stops, with an arrogant Democratic party that is incapable of engaging these people on a grass roots level.
