US Election 2024

The dems should be starting the election message immediately: the republicans are corrupt, kleptomaniac and treasonous. Keep on this message continuously and as the facts come to light it will snowball. Make it about the party and make them all indistinguishable. Don’t negotiate, don’t assist and don’t help them in any way.

They just tried that … and lost in a landslide.

Nah they didn’t even attempt it properly let alone actually persisted with it. This needs to be done in an aggressive, partisan way with an eye on the long term.

They haven’t got it in them mate , this is the ‘we go high’ party remember. They’ve been letting Republicans trample all over them since Dubya’s second term , and it just goes on and on , gradually getting worse. I wouldn’t place one iota of hope in that lot finally finding a backbone

As opposed to handing the CIA to Putin?

Keep up, it’s now the robot lawnmower.

Nah. One of his first things was the busing of migrants to cities, which was very much a manufactured crisis to create Republican talking points.

The other issues are not isolated to the big cities in America. Guess what, all of that happened all over the world as well. Antisocial behaviour has been on the rise in general since the pandemic started, and it’s not just in cities, it’s just more obvious in cities because of the population density.

Sure it’s a good explanation of the anger, but it doesn’t mean that the voters made the right decision given their priorities.

Apologies if this has been answered already but basically tariffs always have a negative impact. They are a blunt tool that often has wider implications than you think. Biden kept them because they are difficult to remove once in place. Removing them also has a negative impact.

Trump in his first term put tariffs on foreign washing machines. The impact was a price increase across the board including US made machines. Dryers also increased in price. Yes it resulted in more jobs and some money coming in but the overall impact including price to the US consumer was over $800k per job created.

That coukd be fascinating dynamic given the size of the two ego’s in play.

How long does the mutual back tapping last?

Will it be Musk who leaves or Trump?

Actually thinking about it Musk is probably smart enough to just wait out Trump.

As long as liitle Johnny can safely go to school without having his d**k chopped off one day, it was all worth it. And those sweet libtard tears.
Am I doing this right?

Tulsi Gabbard gets to do the president’s daily brief. Wut. And that’s not even the worst decision of the lot.

Do you not find it dusturbing that something that was a parody / joke is now an embedded reality?

Not made any progress in reality have we?

The problem with that take is that in most departments, the next 2 layers down are going to Trumpistas, deeper in some. The American system provides much less of a non-partisan government structure than does the Westminster style, it isn’t just the top layer that is explicitly political - which is one major reason why it won’t play out like ‘Yes, Minister’. Even the top levels of the career bureaucracy are expecting to be purged very earlly in the New Year.
