Surely those states were trained by the US, and they know that they need to fire only two missiles for each interceptions. Also, it’s highly likely that some US advisors are still there to advise the Arabs.
The only plausible conclusion could be that those Arabs are incredibly inept.
This has always been my impression on Arab/Middle Eastern conventional military and I’ll admit this may offend however I do not intend it to:
Marvelous and brilliantly adaptive unconventional forces. Absolutely stuck in the mud with zero imagination as a conventional force
Magnificently charismatic leadership in an unconventional forces. Absolutely no cohesiveness between the Officer corp and the rank and file in conventional forces
Highly motivated and disciplined unconventional forces. Poorly motivated and blasé conventional forces
An elitest, read often corrupt, officer corp with no leadership acumen (read 2) in conventional forces
Conventional forces trained inwardly to view their own population as a major threat thus reducing their effectiveness in actual modern combat scenarios.
All in all, military effectiveness is diminished compared to what you would think achievable with such modern hardware available to them. You would only need to look at Saudi Arabia’s clashes with the Houthis to see what I mean.
It’s not just that. Speaking exclusively about Saudi Arabia
Most of these countries and their soldiers have never faced a conventional war. The first gulf war was probably the first time most of the soldiers now faced a conventional war. And that’s in the 90s in a very limited and quick battle to liberate Kuwait from Iraqi rule. Their armed forces can do bombing of the houthis etc because it’s an easy battle with an overwhelming troop advantage. But when they are up against a country with a sizable army , they just lack experience. Probably the reason why they keep signalling for Pakistan to honour the defence pact.
Their oil wealth and the status of Mecca in the islamic world ensures that no other country would seriously look to attack them but in this case , the Iranians are desperately looking to increase the terms of engagement.
Russia seems to have sent an Antonov 124 to Iran some days back. That could be humanitarian supply or deliveries of additional s400 Air defense systems. I believe Iran had only one before.
The additional s400 units being deployed could explain for how f35’s were tracked and fired upon.
Do the Iranians still have access to the 60% enriched Uranium ?
What’s stopping them from using those as nuclear bombs ? I understand that they will be heavier and not as efficient but theoretically they have all they need to do a nuke test and force us/Israel to backoff.
What is stopping them, is that if they have access to it, they cannot just go and extract it. They will also need to refine the gas further for an effective weapon, but it can be used to make very bad nukes (aka just a big bomb) in theory. Probably not a good idea.
In any case, as far as what the US and everyone else thinks they know, it is still buried deep at Ishafan and the other site I don’t remember the name of. If it’s no longer there, then it is missing, but Ishafan is taken satelite pictures of it all the time to understand if there is digging and etc., so not very likely.
every day i wake up and just check in to see what one of these fuckwits has done to the other fuckwits and which population has to pay in monetary or physical form for these cunts ego and monetary gains.
cunts. the lot of them.
cunts should be made to sit and look at this image Pale Blue Dot - Wikipedia and write out Carl Sagans words on it, 100 times on the blackboard before they can leave the creche that is the world of politics.
then they should be made to contemplate, in solitude, how it is that such a precious thing as the earth is taken for granted, and such a rare precious thing as life - NOT EVEN INTELLIGENT LIFE - is somehow expendable - they should be made to write a short form information booklet on why we then ALLOW them to continue to represent us as humans.
Pakistan doing the sensible thing so far. They are facing two internal battles. One with Afghanistan and the Taliban (yes , the regime that they funded) and the other a costly battle with the Balochistan rebels.
With their Shia population, they can’t afford to get into a battle with Iran.
Doesn’t hold good for their relations with Saudi though. The Saudis are the only ones with their money preventing Pakistan from going into complete insolvency.
The IMF payment doesn’t happen without Saudi giving the guarantees
A very cynical part of me thinks that Pakistan are going to blink and then follow the Saudi direction.
Their military has continuously proven themselves to being short sighted and being mercs for hire. Hence the IMF bailouts etc stopping their country to going into free fall
This escalates the war. In the short run , it might promise Pakistan the much needed funds etc but in the long run , this is going to destroy them totally.
