Different league but he holds up well defensively when compared with Rodri.
I think a lot of this transfer has to do with the positionaldiscipline that is missing.i wouldn’t be surprised seeing him being planted in front of the CBs.
Stats seem to suggest he’s a good tackler and is someone who rarely gets booked as well. His passing is not his strong suit but he’s more adept at carrying the ball.

Should be okay with short passes. His long passing especially is dreadful.
But pass to Trent , Mac , Dom , Robbo who can do the damage.

Yep. Enough players around him to distribute the ball long. Even the likes of Virgil and Becker can distribute the ball long well.
He reminds me of a Lucas Leiva. Hopefully one without the brain freezes

Isn’t the ideal role. But something to steady the ship while we get another more long term role
It’s probably better to poach the scouts and coaches from Monaco tbh. They do seem to identify a good defensive midfield prospect early.
Just when we get rid of a midfielder who wears #3, we sign a new one.
We seem to move fast on deals where there isnt major money involved

An under-the-radar, stop-gap signing, for our position of need (DM), who will bring lots of experience to our midfield (which we are short of after Hendo and Fab leaving) and can also cover CB if needed. What is not to like here?
It is great we are not desperate anymore for a midfield signing. However, I can definitely see us getting another midfielder now or in January (Andre?). Maybe even both (though we would then exceed our non-homegrown quota if the new signing does not count as homegrown).
But it’s the land of the rising sun

No. Be pointless signing him if he isn’t an upgrade, hence the question. Is he good enough? I’ve never heard the name until this morning on the radio.
