He’s a def upgrade over Fabinho(last season). Not that it counts for much. But still
TAXI?!?!?!
This is fairdinkum gold!!!
@GermanRed and @anon27364116 have seen him much more than me and they seem to rate him quite highly. Statistically he is pretty good, passing stats are low but he plays for a shite team and I imagine that’s a large part of it.
I know what you mean but still Counts I suppose as we saw on Sunday for the first 30 minutes. Fresh legs and energetic. Until it went awry for whatever reason, possibly Gakpo being in there leaving Dom and Mac too much ground to cover for too long a period until Jones came in. Be nice if we got someone who is an upgrade on a poor Fabinho but also worthy of a place, because just slightly better than last year’s Fabinho isn’t all we should be looking at.
I just said this on another thread, but I’m mindful of the old Shankly quip. We have plenty of players to play the piano, but Endo is one to carry it.
As ever, it’s about the blend.
Now, I hope we sign one more midfielder, and a defender too, but the signing of Endo will give us some insurance to not have to panic, or get into a deal where our pants are being pulled down.
The issue is that he’ll be playing in a better team but against better opposition than in the German leagues
Mentioned the same in the Bournemouth thread.
Can’t remember him being used as a CB for Stuttgart. Read somewhere that it was twice but a few years ago - that would also mean that it was in a back 3.
Depending on what kind of midfielder we sign next, who’s available and who we play we might see Endo being used as a #8 too.
Maybe a mix between Lucas and Gini describes him best.
Don’t know if he’s ever played there but I could see him being used at right back before centre back. Similar build and attributes to Milner.
I can probably say that about 99% of our signings. I don’t follow other leagues, so don’t really get to see players unless they play against us in Europe.
From our recent signings I did know of Macca from Brighton and the World Cup for Argentina but knew nothing of Dom.
And get him sendoff.
Good signing for shirt sales. I’ll continue wearing my Albert Stubbins one though.
He is on the Sgt Pepper cover . . . Not many people know that.

He won’t understand a single word tbf
… and the only reason he appeared there was because John Lennon thought he had a funny name.
Would be plenty of names in that category now…
From what I’ve seen Endo will add more steel in the engineroom.
As long as we haven’t got a Caicedo-like player I expect him to be one of the first names on the team-sheet.
Tchouameni nope. Bellingham nope. Caicedo nope. Lavia nope. Endo it is.
There was me thinking the club is all about the long term. This is all rather underwhelming, especially given the timing. Acquiring him during this phase of the transfer window, and at the seeming muted price, raises some concerns.
His signing doesn’t seem aligned with being a top-priority target; his age and profile don’t particularly distinguish him. It almost appears as if it’s a reactionary move out of necessity. Unless proven otherwise, it’s challenging to view this as anything other than a rushed purchase.
I hope there is at least one more signing to come before the window closes, ideally at least one high-quality player.
Admittedly, I haven’t seen him play. Wish him all the best and hope he does well, all the same.
Ffs the chat was getting positive for a while there
He who carries the piano need not play it. That’s not his job.
You missed out the bit in bold, added it for you.
