"Sources close to the player’s camp — who, like all throughout this piece, spoke on the condition of anonymity to protect relationships/their positions — indicated that the figure paid to Brighton is as low as £35million. Sources on the south coast claimed the deal would cost Liverpool up to £55million.
Liverpool have remained tight-lipped, but sources have told The Athletic it was a one-off fee to Brighton with no add-ons and that the £35million figure is more accurate than £55m."
It was unusual to read that a release clause had addons. I never heard of such a thing before. Somebody said there might have been an extra fee to “expedite” the transfer, but again that also doesn’t make sense, cause if the release clause is triggered, then it kind of goes out of club’s hands anyway right?
Harvey Elliott would do well to study Alexis’ strengths and use him as a role model to improve his game. They are both not incredibly fast players but have good ball skills.
It could be to do with fullfilling desire to play for a CL team then you go for this amount but a EL team then this is the price as Brighton are at that level too.
No,but then why sign anything in the first place. He didn’t need to but they have obviously come to some form of agreement so Brighton do well out of it and it may have been as above.Either way 35-55 is a good price for him at todays prices.
Probably the best thing about this time of year is that we get our business done quickly and really piss off United fans. Granted it makes transfer window day SLAMMING shut a little anti climactic but it’s worth it!
