I thought the gist of his reply are that they are all long term injuries or coming back from them, rather than they are still long term in availability?

He said they were long term injuries but specified Hugo was out for longer. I kinda got the impression that he wasn;t quite sure if Bradley or Leoni would be ready for the start of pre-season but I recall seeing both are out on the grass again. I’m desperate for Leoni to get a pre-season.

If you are the agent of Conor Bradley, the last thing you want putting out there is that Bradley won’t be back until next spring… certainly not when Hughes has money burning a hole in his pocket, for him to then start looking at bringing in a replacement full back…
It is not such a bitter pill to swallow if you think Bradley is not far off being fit as the new season approaches, as opposed to having to concede he won’t be ready for months yet..!
I think we have to accept there are difficult situations right now in terms of, I would say, both sides: a lot of senior players leaving, very important players that have achieved almost everything here in the club, and also some of the very important players [who are] injured. You know, we haven’t started training and we already have, especially in the cases of Hugo Ekitike, Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni, long injuries.
So, in terms of also improving the team we have to consider [that] we have to replace very important players that were making very good numbers, and also we have the situation with, especially those three, big injuries that are going to miss some time that we also have to find a way to replace. We know that these three players, for example, I love them, they are the long-term solutions, I’m sure. You know about Conor, about Giovanni, about Hugo, but there is going to be, especially in Hugo’s case, a period where we will be without them and we have to try to find solutions also.
Suggests to me that they were all long term and the other two are more short term issues.

I’ve never used the expression either, but some people do. Including Japan’s ambassador to the UK:

I came away with a very positive impression of Iraola from that first press conference. Very thoughtful and realistic and pragmatic. Kinda like Arne…except with a far more affable and savvy disposition.
The key will be how he handles adversity. Arne did not handle that especially well and it helped turn the supporters against him. Remains to be seen how Iraola responds.

Arne was very affable too. It’s easy to be affable when you are winning. It’s another thing to maintain that when you are having a slip. That’s one area where Klopp excelled. His smile and laugh alone negated most of the criticism.

And Jurgen was the best manager when he was appointed. It helped that he had a natural affinity to take on works in progresses and he probably liked our club from the get go.
I remember his borrussia Dortmund visiting Liverpool for a pre-season friendly and he seemed like he was visiting a shrine.

Something that really struck me again today…
I think there’s far too much negative talk about the fact that we’ve signed Iraola—someone who has never won anything and previously only managed “mid-table” teams, and so on—whereas Arteta’s move to Arsenal (when he had previously only been an assistant coach) was viewed as a natural next step in his career. The English media can be very, very strange at times.
