Welcome to Liverpool, Andoni Iraola!

That makes sense, as I can’t fathom why he’d be having a little pop at Iraola!

These guys, pulis, McCarthy, dyche, are always trying to find similarities between the things they were demeaned for and something a top rated manager is doing as a way to big themselves up and reframe the perception people of have of them.

Does Shawn Dyche have a job? I genuinely don’t know.

He does TV adverts now…

As @CanuckoLFC has posted in another thread, Slot’s team and Iraola’s team statistically ain’t too different. Shocking but the stats are painting that picture.

I guess what is the difference is the In possession tactics and the concept of taking a risk.

That’s why stats are lie, more lies and damn lies.

yep.

although there maybe parallels drawn between similar styles, you’d have to be pretty generous to draw a line directly between a Dyche team and from what i saw of Iraolas Bournmouth.

as you say, they are padding thier own reputation and being a bit cheeky by doing so… or maybe, just maybe, they genuinely believe their style is not that far off who they compare themselves with… which just begs the question of why im not a multi millionaire football manager…

Because you’re not a billionaire, to begin with. :upside_down_face:

Richard Branson: “If you want to be a millionaire, start with a billion dollars and launch a new airline.”

He isn’t actually having a go as the title suggests he is actually praising Iraola.

Yep. My response was to the first post, where he talked about Iraola’s lower league football. It didn’t sound complimentary and seemed off. The second post, called ‘a massive compliment’ cleared it up. Fair enough!

Good luck to Iraola. I can’t wait to see how he gets us playing as the team comes together and learns his ways. Front foot, pressing, uncomfortable to play against, getting it forward quickly… bring it on.

It’s the clickbait headlines that are the issue!

But also ROTW people need to look at the whole article before making decisions, however we all do it. :grimacing:

Fitness issues last season + the World Cup - then a pre-season in the US with lots of traveling sounds like the most stupid idea one can have.

Hope we go back to the alps (short travel) for some high-altitude training next summer.

Seems unlikely - not many commercial opportunities unless we sign a sponsorship with Yodel and we wouldn’t want the players risking injuries out on the piste

Most likely Asia next time

My hope is we should be able to manage both the commercial and fitness requirement in the off-season. Next time go to the Far East. Cultivate the passionate fan base there. It’s a good thing.

But find a balance! So we should be able to do some high altitude training, or whatever Iraola and his coaches want, in order to get the team in the best condition for the season ahead.
