With the Trent, Bradley, and Gomez discussions, I thought Iād see how Ramsayās doing on loan at Bolton.
Heās hardly played. I was hopeful heād have a decent loan, and then he could come back and try to compete to be a back-up RB, but with the injuries and the loan spells, it just hasnāt worked out for him.
Maybe heāll get a chance to show what heās about during pre-season.
Unfortunately, due to his own circumstance and the competition at Liverpool in his position, heās a mile away from being part of the first team squad for next season.
Weāll just have another look at him during the summer, see whatās best for his body and pick another loan. Canāt see anything else happening.
Amazing that he played last night. One of the only good things about the game is the lad got some minutes and did ok. Feel for him big time, but hopefully he can push on and have a good career!!
He came in with a bit of fanfare. I think heād been voted the best player in Scotland before he arrived, and looked great in the fleeting glimpses we got of him initially. Then he got really knocked by injuries. Hope he can stay fit now and put pressure on Bradley and Frimpong.
On another note, I thought in the context of the game last night, the awful challenge on him late on, was particularly shithouse. Crystal Palace had won, the game was petering out, weāre down to ten U21s, and the palace player does that to a lad who has lost three years of his career to injury in his first game back. What a prick.
