Welcome to Liverpool Ibrahima Konate

If he held dual nationality at the time I think he’s still permitted to change.

We had a fresh example of Borna Sosa who was in a Croatia or Germany situation. He got their nationality in a short space of time. The DFB thought he qualified to play for them, but it turned out to be a terrible blunder.

It’s different to Declan Rice’s example, who played for Ireland’s U21 at a European Championship, but was young enough for him to switch sides at senior level.

I think Regulation Governing Application of Statutes rule 9.2a) applies if Konate held dual nationality when appearing for France U21s, regardless of age.

That is absolute genius actually. This has just got to be his song!!

Welcome to Anfield, Monsieur Konate! We have arguably the best CB in the league, so learn from him and be our pillar for the next ten years!

P.s I kinda like him already when he is an anime fan!

I am reading in Dutch newspapers that he needs a work permit. I don’t know the criteria but could that become a problem?

Surely the club have researched everything and know he will qualify

I can’t imagine we spent the dough and there will be work permit issues.

Looks a very good player indeed. Pace, height, strength, brings it out of defence, good on the ball. Looks to have the lot. Very excited to see what he can do at Liverpool.

Just add a midfielder and striker and let’s get that title back!

Every overseas player needs a work permit. He quaifies with ease - no worries there.

Amazing getting our business done early. Very excited and happy with this signing. If we have a fit and stable CB partnership, it’ll transform our game a lot. We had some really nice streaks of wins I remember when Gomez and VVD were fit and starting all games. Defense wins titles, so this lad would be contributing to a few going forward am sure

Yes, it is on the NOS but I don’t think the lot on TAN can receive that on their telly. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

BTW, it will be an easy win to France, the good players like Gravenberch are playing with the big boys.

I was thinking of you Dutch and any TAN members off on a smoking holiday.
As for the France info for all those on a blanquette holiday.
