You know, I might have to retract that statement. For some reason, I had it in my head that he’d gone conspiracy mad, but looking for a source turned up nothing.

I never got to watch that at the time. My Sergeant Major (a Bluenose) wouldn’t let me go to the NAAFI to watch it. We had a function on in the Sgts Mess and they wouldn’t put the telly on.
