If I’m not mistaken, it was aired on the TV in the UK a few years back - I’ve definitely watched it in the past, and as I don’t have it on DVD, it must have been the TV I watched it on…!!

Therefore was able to lie low.
The person I live with was rushing around trying to decide which hairbrush to keep.

This was yesterday at one of my favourite fishing/beach spots, about 6km from home. A decently filmed and edited video of the netting of sardines during the sardine run, aka 'the Greatest Shoal on Earth. You will have heard me bemoaning the lack of it this year amid warming temperatures but they have at last made an appearance this week. Anyway, this type of netting is unique to the KZN and particularly from Durban down south to Port Edward. Nobody knows why a small portion of the sardine biomass breaks off and finds it’s way north but it’s universally assumed that they follow a cold current that flows up the Indian Ocean coastline of South Africa from the cold Atlantic waters of the Cape. This chute of cold water is relatively confined to a narrow corridor up the coast which forces the shoals to the shore line and in places, they come close enough to shore to be netted. Boats go out, nets are circled and pulled in by hand with ungodly effort. Also part of the team are swimmers who have to physically guide the net as it is deployed, a dangerous job that invariably claims a few lives every year; this is by and large no mild, lake like sea conditions but generally raging surf zones with currents, swirls and rips as well as large number of sharks circling the shoals as well (shark attacks are rare, though).
Anyways enjoy the video. It is quite spectacular.

What you packed your own stuff and was organised tut tut

I remember going on family holidays in a VW caravanette.
Mum would pack and it wouldn’t all fit in. Dad un packed and fitted it all in. The problem was the return journey having to sit with stuff all over the place. At least your just on a one way in a way.
You need to be brave and patient in these situations.

In my house, my life manager has packed her suitcase a full 3 days beforehand, followed shortly afterwards by mini me’s suitcase. The dogs stuff is packed a week in advance.
I do my bit 20 minutes before we leave.

Can I communicate this to my better half? No. The path of least resistance dictates I stay quiet, very quiet.

At a nice park in an amphitheater on the White River in Indy for an open air production of King Lear. Brought chairs, wine and a little picnic. Great vibe. Temp is perfect.
The daughter of a friend left her job in corporate America and is now making a go of it as a full time actress, in stuff like this, mostly between Chicago, Indianapolis and Cincinnati.
Just spoke with her before the start and told her how inspiring it is that she is living her dream and daring to do something like this.
Mrs ROTW did King Lear at A level back in the day, so she was helping my basic general knowledge as to the main plot lines.
Just poured some wine. Cheers!

Back in the UK for a couple of weeks and meeting my grandson for the 1st time.
On Grandpa duties taking the little fella for a walk and so so lucky that my route just happened to take me past a pub.
This is the life, happy as a pig in muck.

That’s great ROTW. You must have been very proud. It’s a wonderful play and the scenes towards the end are truly tragic. I hope you enjoyed it.
