What's happening? (Part 2)

I am dreading travelling to Europe. I heard the queues are extremely long, you need a couple of hours extra for that.

What does it say, iftikhar?

This could go in the Breaking News thread… in fact it could go in every thread to get the news out there…!
McVities have combined a Chocolate Digestive Biscuit with a Jaffa Cake topping… Mmmmmmmmmmmm!
Off to the shops today for me and probably a lot of other ā€˜Dunkin Biscuit’ true aficionado here on the site :0)

But is it a cake or a biscuit? I can see this one ending up in court.

As a biscuit purist, I’m quite upset about that.

Well its been a pretty strange last near 2 years for me.

I was happily married for 19 years and got a message from a woman on Facebook saying my wife was meeting her boyfriend in hotels. I was utterly broken. This was in Sept 2024.

I confronted my wife and she admitted it. We went counselling etc and by March 2025 I felt we were in really good place. Then in the April my wife started acting odd. Being very distant etc.
This went on until September 25 and I then discovered she had started lying again about her whereabouts.

I went Lanzarote with the lads for a few days and when I came back i made the decision to end the relationship. I couldn’t be in a relationship where there’s no trust or someone is always lying.

So we put the house up for sale and it sold straight away. Both parties were chain free yet it took a day short of 5 months to go through thanks to the buyers solicitors who were utterly useless.

In the meantime I bought myself a new place and that completed on May 8th.
I haven’t moved in yet - currently with parents - and now I’m back from another lads holiday everything is starting to take shape. Carpets being fitted today, deliveries of things over the next few days. My son will decorate it first week of June.

I don’t want to be there but it is what it is. I’ve been utterly broken the last year but my mates have been superb. I’m not quite sure where id be without them or my counsellor who I see once a month. I’m slowly getting my confidence back. But want to be on my own for a bit and get settled. If I meet someone else then so be it but if I don’t there’s no rush.

Its true what they say - you never know what’s round the corner!!

In general, chocolate covered biscuits are not ideal for dunking, and jaffa cakes are far too spongy which can lead to messy outcomes.

Jaffa cakes are a favorite of dope smokers, being very sweet and requiring little chewing.

The plain chocolate digestive is the king of biscuits and does not require any modification as it is quite perfect as it is.

Sounds really tough, walshy. I speak to men going through versions of what you’ve described quite regularly - coming to terms with the uncertainty can really be liberating. Try some new things, revisit those things you’ve always fancied and invest in yourself and you’ll likely find yourself looking back in a few years feeling life has worked out even better than you’d hoped. The good habits - self care (exercise, healtyh eating and sleep), prioritising social connections and personally stimulating and enriching activities (hobbies, volunteering, time spent in a personally meaningful way) - you build and maintain now are the key to a happy and contented old age.
