What's happening? (Part 2)

They should be called Adidas Rome’s. I was wearing these in Australia in the 1980’s. If your feet weren’t big enough you got Campus.

The only shoe I used to wear actually through the sole. Everything else I kill the upper part.

Darn it. Out done by a 1970’s sneaker.

Speaking of retro sneakers/trainees, my lad is an excellent thrifter. He has a job to help through college, and he is learning the value of money, in the best way. So he went to a thrift store on the way home last night and bought a brand new pair of Adidas Gazelles, suede ones, blue; and a brand new pair of Puma ones that were pretty similar to the Gazelles, but I didn’t know what they were called.

Anyway, he paid $40 - $20 for each pair, and they are unworn, in his size. The thrift store is hit and miss and you never know what they might have, but he was pretty pleased with himself for that, and told me it would have been well over $200 for his purchases at the normal sports shop.

Used to love looking at the refurbished trainees in Transalpino. Stuff that had been worn in New York in the 70’s etc…always wondered if they’d belonged to a serial killer or something…

Im a big fan of Gazelles, owned dozens of pairs over the years.

20 bucks us a great price, did they come original box? If yes, sell them for a profit, collectors love Adidas in the original box!

Hope my lad gets into adidas with a pair of jeans when hes older,

It would break my heart to see him in nike airs, a black tracky and baseball cap…

Ive got a transalpino t shirt somewhere,

Adidas haven’t brought out a decent pair of trainees for years. Just the same old regurgitated shite.
I was talking to a bloke in JD a while back, he was about the same age as me, and he was saying the same thing. We’d both worn Adidas for years but were now buying Nikes. Not the mad Air ones, just the likes of Invigor. Shame really.

You not liking the adidas spezial range?

I got these on vinted a few months back, brand new with tags…

Adidas Boston super

And if its shoes, its gotta be Timberland moccasins!

Cant escape my youth…

Never bought anything Nike in my life.
Dont know why, just don’t like that fucking annoying tick.
My current golf shoes are Adidas, comfiest ever

Ex and daughters missed flight back to Sydney (she thought flight was from Heathrow and I noticed too late that it was Gatwick). Thankfully seem to have found an alternative.

Sneaker?
You’re spending too long in the company of Americans

Called that in Australia too.

They do things like that. Flip flops were called thongs there

Yeah telling someone you’ve worn out a thong pounding the pavement has a different meaning here..

Gutties…

last good set of trainers I’ve bought were Asics court shoes, and NB before those. if I’m going for fashion, you can’t beat a good set of Chuck’s.

On occasion it got so hot, my thongs stuck to the pavement.
