Fire? ![]()
It would set the firm alarm off😂.
When the fire alarm goes off, Science are often accused that they did it, by the site management team.
Last two times, it was the canteen😂. We have strict health and safety protocols.
Sounds like modern perfume from China to me
.
Take a shot and then play

Sometimes things here in Japan can actually go wrong.
Yesterday I was eating lunch at home seated at the dining table with my tablet in front of me when it started blaring at me with a voice saying, in English, ‘Strong earthquake is imminent. Severe shaking is expected. Take cover immediately’. Or word to that effect.
So I did what all schoolchildren in Japan are taught to do and got under the table. The strange thing was that the NERV Disaster Alert app on my tablet was showing half of Japan in red. How could this be, I thought. An earthquake doesn’t affect half of the country.
Time passed, and nothing happened. I emerged and switched on the TV which showed pictures of place in Hokkaido where nothing was happening. The TV anouncer then repeatedly announced that the alert had been cancelled. He managed to look both embarassed and totally confused.
Apparently the alert had been for a magnitude 9.9 earthquake which would have been the strongest ever recorded if it had actually happened.
Do they have an equivalent of April Fools in Japan?
Might have been Godzilla taking an evening stroll.
Godzilla did cross my mind!
Yes, “go forth and multiply” means the same but is far more cerebral
We received a letter on Saturday informing Mrs Limie she was being involved in a law suit about insurance payments payable to some guy we’ve never heard of on the other side of country. It didnt make any sense at all, but after carefully digging through what I figured out was
- this guy was in a traffic accident and won a settlement with an insurance company for personal injury damages
- The court put a hold on that award due to unpaid child support
- Mrs limie was being involved in the case as a plaintif, seemingly because they believed she was the person who was owed the child support money and by including her in the law suit it was the quickest way to get the insurance company to release the money.
We assumed it was an elaborate scam, but it turns out it isnt. It’s a legit case, but the law firm are having trouble tracking down the mother and seemingly took a flier that Mrs Limie was the right person
