We are just back from the Netherlands. Rather than the Christmas markets, we decided to get the festive shop from a Dutch Aldi.
Mainly this is down to my wife’s shifts. We were planning on going to the Christmas market tonight after the match, but after the events in Magdeburg, we have decided to stay in.
I’m picking my son up from Bremen tomorrow, so I could do without a hangover anyway.
Have a laugh at my expense. Went to a full day wedding yesterday as guests. Magic. I got the job of organising the sparklers. Had two empty buckets and no obvious tap. They did have a pond at the front of the hotel though but it was at the bottom of a steep slope… A full day drinking Guiness and my cautious nature meant I went for the pond.
Thank you! I thought I was bloody hilarious with the double s in tribute to the Magnus buss* and the gollum reference after we went on a Tolkien tangent.
@Magnus nothing but respect to you sir, for the detailed posts you bring to the forum which certainly educate me as to what is going on in the world. Doing so in a second language is laudable.
There’s seemingly a cauliflower shortage here on the south coast. Missus and I went to two supermarkets yest, FIL’s been to three today - no one has whole cauli’s. Christmas might be off if there’s no cauliflower cheese with dinner tomorrow.
This is indeed that time of the year of fuzzy warm feelings and greetings, where even your pets and household animals, get their very own seasonal greetings
It hasn’t been looked after in the last decade. Has a leaking exhaust manifold, electrical is suspect, turn signals not working. Plan on rewiring the car, maybe drop a 1.6L MX-5 motor/trans in it just to make it reliable.
Good morning everyone, just to say Merry Christmas to everyone…eat , drink n be happy, but most of all think of family n friends throughout the day…and have a Lovely day…
We had to have our dog put down this morning. He had been suffering from kidney problems for a while and got to the point that he couldn’t stand up. He was at least 15. He was a rescue dog so the SSPCA guy was not certain of his age.
This is my old profile picture from This Is Anfield, with one of the kids holding him with his Liverpool scarf (and hence someone calling me "the red whippet guy).
So sorry to hear that mate. Been through it and it is a horrible experience. If the dog’s health and quality of life is fading, you have to release him. There might be a moment where you doubt, but you did the right thing. It is merciful. He gave you everything he had over the years, and was a lucky rescue dog to have found a loving family. I’m sure he knew that too.
