I used to use a “Turkish” barber in Scotland. They were quite long established, although the guys were Syrian.
I did use a Turkish barber last time I was in Liverpool. It was OK, but the lad who cut my hair had pretty poor English (and couldn’t understand German either) so I am assuming that he was a fairly recent immigrant.
You do wonder how the market can accommodate so many.
We got a lot of snow here, piled up high on either side of the drive now - good workout yesterday with my lad. The snow plows did a good job getting the roads open, but side streets and cul-de-sacs are down the priority list, so I spent most of the day working at home. It’s also pretty chilly. It does get a lot colder than this at times, but right now it is -10C. I wouldn’t play golf in it!
My head has less hair than your average cueball, yet every time I walk into a barbers with a weeks facial hair, they ask me what i want.
Well its not a fucking haircut is it!!!
No law, as such, but our neighborhood has a Home Owners Association. These are quite common over here and there are certain things you are supposed to do to keep the neighborhood nice. Clearing the snow on the path in front of your house would be one of them.
All the households pay quarterly HOA fees, and it covers landscaping in common areas, the children’s playground, the upkeep of walking trails and paths in the neighborhood, and the swimming pool we share and the life guard we pay.
As a way to volunteer and serve in the community, Mrs ROTW serves as the Treasurer for our HOA.
It has always blown my mind how the libertarian gun-loving Americans all happily put up with having their daily lives ruled by interfering micro-government like the HOAs. Whose damn business is it what colour your garage door is?
