What's happening?

Pitch a tent at the Emptihad - that’s just as desolate and lifeless as the Sahara.

You can travel in from there.

Ta la!:sob::joy:

See. Great minds like me and cynnie , we think alike

3 decent hotels in Southport. Prince of Wales, Scarisbrick and Royal Clifton. Look to be reasonable for those dates still. 40 minutes on train from Liverpool.

I think it’s more a case of “fools seldom differ” for us.

Any guarantees that they won’t get conveniently cancelled

I prefer to be slightly more optimistic.

Thank you @rambler.:folded_hands:
I will definitely check them out.

Another option was staying in Manchester city centr and direct train to lime street

Ooh double satisfaction!

That would seem to be the sensible option. Have you checked out hotels on the Wirral as well? The train runs every 15 minutes into the town centre and you may find it easier than Manchester.

I’m coming!
It took me ages. Staying in Chester. Near the station
Thanks @Rambler for all your help. Sending you virtual hugs.

I didn’t think of the Wirral..i wasn’t sure if there was a direct train to the city centre.

Every single Premier Inn!, travel lodge is booked outside of liverpool.

I stayed in an Airbnb in Knowledge Quarter during the recent derby. It was only 140 pounds for 4 nights. I think it’s no longer available during your dates but anyone else looking, Airbnb can be a decent alternative.

Airbnb ruins local housing markets and should be avoided at all costs.

Chester is a great option.

Except for when the racing’s on. It’s carnage then: too many charlied-up Peaky Blinders wannabes, and orange girls off their tits on Prosecco.

Good job there’s no racing when @Maria is going.

I just about got it. I booked for 3 nights Saturday too. I have option to go home monday instead of Tuesday, after the parade.
 just about made it. Bookings are almost getting full.
I phoned 10 hotels and they were either extortionate prices or booked up for sunday and Monday.

I can’t believe did this, i haven’t told anyone in my family only you guys.

I cannot account for what the local government decide with their policies. If it is legal in that country, I am gonna use it unless everyone should be subjected to the ridiculous pricing for hotels.

And that is your prerogative. You’re just a tourist, so you clearly have no interest in the local communities being ruined by Airbnb.

When you are an internationally renowned artist the rules don’t apply. In fact with a quick sketch on the wall, @gasband could turn the house and area around it into a new tourist hotspot bringing jobs and joy to hundreds of locals.

Oh yeah and add more CO2 into the atmosphere.
