What's happening?

What an amazing doco. I did the same when I first saw it.

I really miss our JĂźrgen. He is like a Dad to us. I hope he will be in Liverpool this weekend and have a reunion with the current team. Effectively, it was his boys. Next season, I am sure our team next season will be changed abit

I went to the GP yesterday. He checked my breathing and other signs. My 02 levels 99%, pulse 75. I didn’t have high temperature at the time. He heard wheezing and crackling abit.
He says if i feel the same or worse, take the antibiotics (Amoxycillin).

I had headache yesterday and took Paracetamol. I stilll have the headache ( usually my headache shifts in 1x dose of paracetamol), fatigue, today and abit of a cough. Other than that i am fine.

My dilemma, shall i take antibiotics now or wait.

I am running out of time.

ETA: the :nazar_amulet: got me. I am jinxed

ETA:
i have taken the 1st dose of Amoxycillin. I can’t risk it. I want to be in Liverpool on saturday. Hopefully, the infection may have subsided by then.

That’s not fair Maria.
My feeling is that you have had this for more than 3 days. If it’s bacterial then the sooner you start the antibiotics the better. Particularly as you haven’t a temperature :thermometer: which indicates your body isn’t fighting it.
I’d take the antibiotics (I presume it’s for 7 days) if it’s not calmed by then go back for more.
Get some probiotics as well.
Btw I’m not a doctor and I haven’t a clue what you have.

I have had an on and off temp. I haven’t right since last Friday.

I just started the dose. He has given me a 5x day course. It could be an underlying 2ndary infection.
Yes, good idea about the probiotics, thanks @Flobs. Will get those today. I need to space those out too.

I just thought i had the usual cold. I think it is something more.
He prescribed me an inhaler although I am not asthmatic.

You’ll generally be feeling better on the third day with Amoxicillin. Not sure whether you can still travel though on Saturday y.

If you do decide to go , keep yourself hydrated both prior to and during the trip. Stick to fruits and easy to digest foods.

Thanks Sithbare,
I am home at the moment. I am going in the car with my friend. I will wear a mask as a precaution. I can rest saturday in the hotel. We won’t be in Chester until after 3pm check in.

My antibiotics dose would have been finished by Monday.

I waited for this trip my whole life :sob:

It should be fine. As long as you take care of yourself on Saturday at the hotel.

Fruits , juices. Maybe some toast / khichdi for carbs. Easy to digest protein like eggs.

If you’ve got a steamer , might well be worth trying to inhale that hot air. And some expectorant syrup if the wheezing in the chest does turn to mucous.

You’ll be fine as long as you don’t overextend yourself.

Thanks Sithbare,

I will get the syrup from the Chemist today. I am doing the steam inhalation with a towel over my head.

So no exotic food then, on the soups, daal soup should ok @Sithbare right? I will take some sandwiches on the monday, bananas and cut apples and plenty of water. There are some nice cafes on the Allerton road

I have anxiety now, that i will not make the trip.

You should be fine on the diet. Kichdi , daal soup , anything which is easy to digest.

Just load up on probiotics , fruits and easy to digest proteins and carbs. Keep eating small amounts every 3 hours.

Also skip the caffeine and have some green tea bags with you. If those are the ones with ginger , honey and lime added even better. I take it hot water should easily be available at various places.

Yess,
I made a list on my phone. Will take honey with me. I usually don’t drink caffeine after 5 pm.

Not that green tea doesn’t have caffeine. Not just the amount that coffee gives.

My friend, who is an retired GP, says there is a particularly nasty cold virus going round. I was bad for 5 weeks coughing up industrial levels of gunk and I don’t normally suffer with my chest. My wife also caught it and was prescribed the antibiotics and a week’s worth of steroids. :frowning:

I always blame my grandchildren. They live in France but whenever I do see them I soon go down with a cold. They are little virus bombs.

Going to see them in June so fully expecting :face_with_thermometer:

If it’s bacterial then the antibiotics should work quickly. Just remember to take the full course.

Any cough/cold which I do catch almost always gets to my chest. It’s a bitch.

I find that a drug called montelukast(sp?) Helps me quite a bit. Expands the passage way to the lungs and enables me to get the gunk out. But it probably isn’t available without a prescription where you guys are. Not unless people know a doctor personally who can do that.

That said I do have those allergies and this drug is what it essentially is prescribed for.

I work in a school and there has been a virus going round, alot of teachers were off. My head of Physics, she ended up getting pneumonia. Schools are virus/bacteria factories. I even spray the door handles now and then.

What i started doing this last one year, is wearing a mask on the tube from October to end of March, flu season. My friend in Taiwan, when she comes to visit the UK, she wears mask all the time on any public transport.

I don’t think it’s that much to do with France. I live in France as does my grandchild and often I have worried when he visits about picking up bugs. Kids are just bug bombs particularly when they mingle with other kids like at crèche, maternal schools etc. It’s much better now he’s a bit older, 4 years, before it was a nightmare. Living in the Rhone valley doesn’t help any bug that’s up north come down with the mistral.
During my convalescence, broken back, it was really scary as coughing, sneezing and nose blowing was really painful and to avoid at all costs.

That’s the reason. Washing your hands regularly is possibly the best defence. Also masks.

I just spoken cousin’s wife, she is Paediatric pulmonary physician.

She told me to stop using Vicks vapor rub in steam inhalation because it contains petroleum, it makes your lungs worse. I have been doing that last 2 days.

Just use steaming water. That’s one of the first things she learned when specialising.

She also said go! Wear a mask if i have to.
