What's happening?

If someone is overweight then they’re said to be carrying a bit of timber. So if you shift a bit of timber then you have lost weight.

I thought the same as you Magnus. Why would someone with a bad knee go about lifting timber?
I am English and did didn’t know about weight loss terminology.
That’s why I asked it confused me and and quick Google search just reinforced my picture of someone hefting wood about.

Idioms are fun and I love them. I understand 90 percent of them, but sometimes, you actually have to know when it can mean multiple things.

Sure it wasn’t “face down booty up, timber”?

The fact that Australia, and Israel are even in Eurovision makes it more farcical than i imagined possible

Australia is much more reasonable. Israel has got no connection in any way to Europe and should be competing with Mars or Nazi Germany or something.

I find myself coming to TAN more and more especially to get away from all new-school social media.

There is SO much toxicity.

About anything and everything!

It’s like the vast majority of social media users can start fights in empty rooms about any topic imaginable!

I just spent the last hour bawling my eyes out, :sob: on top of my runny cold. Watching the last episode of ‘Doubters to Believers’. Seeing a tearful Virgil and Trent hugging Jürgen and then Jürgen leaving his office at the Axa Training centre for the last time was so emotional.
