Same way the Norwegian public did it, most likely. You are allowed to give more than one vote. And at least in Norway, several congregations in southern Norway campaigned to vote for Israel. I assume it is the same else where.
In short, those who want Israel to win, REALLY want them to win or at least get many points and they are willing to keep phoning for it.
There has been a lot of analysis of the songsā popularity using Spotify as well. Essentially, the people actually listening to the songs and those voting for them are likely to be two different groups.
But when you can vote 20 times for an entry in a show that you donāt even watch, it makes it much easier to rig for political reasons.
The jury is a weird one as well, because it appears to favour francophone and anglophone songs. Interestingly, this yearās Eurovision featured a lot more countries singing in their native languages.
Thereās a fair bit of history between the EBU and Netanyahu. When he scrapped the old Israeli public service broadcaster (IBA) in 2017 the Israelis were meant to be kicked out. By coincidence, the last broadcast was the Eurovision Song Contest which they won.
This meant that the replacement broadcaster (Kan) ended up with a public service remit, although much reduced, so that they could continue to participate.
Netanyahu now wants to scrap Kan. If he does, I would expect Israel to be excluded from the EBU. What you have to remember is that it exists to promote independent public service broadcasting.
The last members to be suspended from the EBU were Russia and Belarus following the invasion of Ukraine. However, the suspension was on the basis that the broadcasters were being used as a propaganda outlet rather than the behaviour of their governments.
Quick question. When the public votes, is it only from the countries who are participating or say if you live in Australia, Canada or US, you can televote as well, if they have the tv rights to televise the programme?
Knee issues are horrible. Ive got arthritis in my right knee and shallow kneecaps (canā remember the medical term), which is the reason i tend to dislocate it (now done 7 times in my life, and only properly diagnosed last year, some 23 years after i first did it). Had microfracturing about 12 years ago, but the recent MRIs showed that didnt work on the meniscus.
Takes 2-3 months to get walking pain free after a dislocation, and 9-12 months to get back to full levels of activity. I now go carefully, but could defenitly do more to strengthen the muscles around my knee to prevent further dislocations. I have shifted a fair bit of timber which has helped.
I wonder if certain diet things could help. I eat a lot of turmeric for example and a few other things to try and keep any inflamation I may have in check. My kidney issues are inflammation related.
How much they help I cant say but at least I feel like Iām trying something rather than just rolling over. My condition has been stable for 11 years now, thankfully.
I still eat poorly at times, but being active helped me out most. Play badminton 1-2 times a week, and we got a dog that requires 90-120 mins or walking a day.
But hes recovering from surgery so no long walks right now, i had a holiday recently and been socialising a fair bit so have deffo gained a few lbs in the last few weeks.
Also finding that im becoming stiff and sore generally so considering trying yoga or some other form of stretching. Went to the driving range the other day and now my necks sore as fk
Most who vote watch it.Those who vote for Israel certainly watch the ISraeli song with starry eyes. They vote for Davidās kingdom and Godās promise and against the forces of the devil alligned against it. At least that is true in Norway.
