Just to haul this back on topic - now at the medium sized airport near Edinburgh waiting to fly back to Berlin.
It’s been a fantastic trip. Scotland is a wonderful country and I can’t wait to come back.
👍🏽
Edinburgh airport is fine. Essentially because it was only half an hour to my house, I was pretty much guaranteed an Airbus, and I could usually dodge security.
Obviously, these days I would find it a nightmare.
It was very quick and easy. I’d read some complaints online and was expecting the worst, but was pleasantly surprised.
So, visited Edinburgh today. Complete carnage. I would have loved that back in the day. Hard work today.
What kind of carnage?
This old condom machine in a bar in South Philly used to dispense antacids.
Used to be a proper country.
The last time I was in Ullapool, I had the battle of my life, fending off seagulls from my fish and chips. They were persistent. Unlike any seagulls I encountered before.
Thought the midgies would be the biggest problem
If you were eating f&c outdoors, you only have yourself to blame.
If you were indoors, questions need to be asked about the establishment.
I don’t think it’s about the food or indoors outdoors issue. They are probably just a group of seagulls who saw my drawings of them and took offence.
That could equally apply to humans and horses.
The horse oeuvre was different class, in fairness.
Just the sheer number of people with the fringe festival in full swing and a hot day.
Would have enjoyed it back in the day, but with an 11 year old that hates any kind of walking, 2 dogs that are trouble in their own ways and a partner that struggles with anxiety it was a slog.
Return visit today and managed to get an hour to myself to view some of the street acts here and there. Still crazy busy.
…Don’t forget the military tattoo is on this week also… that brings crowds of people from all over
Not really my thing to be honest. I’m happier listening to someone with an acoustic guitar or any stripped down music. Plus we go home tomorrow.
I’d definitely go again if the situation was that I could relax and enjoy the music and see a gig or two.
Yeah… I meant it is always a busy, hustle bustle period when the MT is on… You will be watching Sunshine on Leith next :0)
I am at the interval at the theatre, watching the Musical ‘Sing Street’. If this musical going to be in your town and if you are into 1980s music. You should go and see it. It is fantastic. It is set in Dublin, 1980s about teenage kids starting a band.
I feel like i am back in Dublin.
If you’re in Dublin in the eighties watch out for my Dad. He’ll sell you the book of Kells and nick your shoes. Report him to the guards immediately. It’ll save a lot of trouble in the long run.
I wish I was there now.
I want to go to Cobh, Kinsale and Cork next.
