What's happening?

I’ve just been to the dentist for my bi-annual Dremel / sand-blast session.

I have been told not to eat or drink anything for an hour. I have also been told to avoid black coffee, tea, red wine and curry (not happening).

I honestly feel like I should have left with a cone of shame on my head.

Morning rant…I understood the benefits system was there to help people in need…but the lazy fat b…stards next to me have ordered breakfast for the last 4 days from a shop 2 minutes away..they are claiming everything under the sun…head of the household(better known as gobshite) is claiming disabled benefit, but can carry 2 slabs of flavoured water from a car to the house..no stick, yet when she goes out we have stick and mobile seat…and I can say fat…because the son has a nickname of chunky…and that’s from his family…but I don’t suppose bags of crap and 4 tins of ‘energy’ drinks help every 4 hours…that’s when it usually arrives…does my head in…I know someone who is profoundly deaf…has learning difficulties and aspbergers…but gets no benefits at all…rant over…but it does make myblood boil…

On the way to Manchester airport. Said goodbye to my Mum yesterday for probably the last time.
Going to Sydney next month and not back until April. It’s highly unlikely that she’ll still be around.

Fitting weather, grey drizzle.

There are many a reasons why they may do what they do, but if you have genuine concerns that they are defrauding the system, the best route is this or you can call the national benefits hotline ( think its called) dwp have 10,000 people working in counter fraud and compliance directorate, these range from serious and organised crime , to compliance officers, and also the enhanced review team that has grown into the largest part of cfcd with about 2,000 staff ( came about during covid) this function is able to have a quicker turnaround for results than SOC and compliance and deals with a range of benefits from abroad through to housing and pip etc…im sure if you collate the information it will be processed within a few weeks and either come to them or determined if its a larger amount it may be referred to compliance/SOC

Must say, whether or not certain individuals are gaming the benefits system, this sort of thing concerns me much more

There are a lot of people who have no choice in what they are claiming as we as a society dont like to admit nor talk about certain things. But for all the shite the rags throw at dwp and civil service in general, they are actually quite good with working with other departments within the civil service and police when it comes to claims being made that actually involve gangs involved in human trafficking and modern day slavery.

These people do have a choice…I workrd for 35 yrs for local government and saved…I have a choice now…but if u can sit on a computer chair for 8 hours or more a day and play f…king computer games u can sit in front of computer or checkout and work and pay taxes…

But you would not know their ailments or condition that may they may have that prevents them from working.

If they are for example claiming PIP , then their Dr and themselves will have provided evidence to support the claim, and regardless of the award, if they are doing activities such as sky diving or bicycle kicks in sunday league matches (its happened before ) then it runs contrary to what the pip claim would state, but its also worth mentioning that some disabilities can be mental health ones that people cant see obviously and it can be genuinely hard for these people to gain/hold down full time employment

That’s probably more for the politics board. But when I worked on the other side of the system, we found a lot of the benefit fraud came from people who were already wealthy. That tended to be more that they were claiming things like workplace benefits for people who didn’t exist or housing benefit on derelict properties. Then there was ILA, but that was a whole other level of fuckwittery.

Yes I can understand all the defence of these people…but it does become obvious over time that the physcial ailments are exaggerated at times…and the mental illness doesn’t come to light…when she is guiding Chunks…the son…how to claim benefits…and announcing in a rather loud voice how much more can I claim…they go regularly to Haven holidays for the walking, good on them…but she can’t walk 100yds to a shop for breakfast items…she can walk…and she has no mental disabilities…unlike the person I know who is profoundly deaf, aspbergers and learning difficulties …and has been denied benefits…

Again the issue may be perception , just because they order breakfast items to be delivered to them does not mean they are benefit cheats, they could be just lazy.

Not going to the shop in person to collect items would not be a disqualification from benefits , thats why when doing a fraud referal form , its always best to give specific examples of them doing stuff that you believe means they may be committing benefit fraud.

Weve had FRF’s from work coaches saying they suspect a claimant is defrauding the benefits system for no other reason than they had a good haircut and looked smart when attending the office for an appointment.

Truth is some people see fraud in cases that arent actually there just out of jealousy.

Yeah..the last 5 words of your 1st paragraph sum it up…lazy…but laziness leads to ordering crap from the shop…morning, noon and night…this means no exercise…so we put on weight…which then leads to diabetes…which she has…and apparently is dying from it…mester wilkored08 has had diabetes for nearly 30 years…and isn’t dying from it…2 words sum em up…lazy f…kers…

Anyway rant over…I’ll chill today watching the athletics…then the game tonight…

Received this text message earlier…

“Hi dad, my new number xx”

Given that i only have 1 child and he’s 2 years old,

I think this could be a scam text, but i’m not sure!

I am fully leaning into my middle agedness by ranting about how shit online delivery tracking has become. Several times recently I have ordered something online and been given a tracking number for the order, but no information was ever posted to allow you to actually track where it is or get an ETA. In all cases the first update was made after the package had already been delivered? WTF is the point of this?
