It seems like ordering online is a complete lottery. I don’t understand how such a major shift in retail behaviour is based on such flimsy foundations.
Text him back, just to be on the safe side.
Make sure he’s got enough money too, after spending on a new phone. He’s probably set up a new bank account, too, so you won’t recognise the number.
Plus, at two years old, he won’t have remembered your personal details yet, so give him as much info as he needs.
I had one last week that was late so I messaged them to ask for an update and was told to check my tracking number. I informed them that despite the order being placed over 2 weeks prior there was still not a single entry logged under the tracking number. Oh give it another 24 hours to update. 2 days later it was finally updated but with an ETA of 2 days prior and with no other information to tell me where TF my package was or when it might actually arrive. It took another week for it to finally show up and was then immediately updated as “delivered”
It took over 3 weeks to deliver a simple order and arrived over 2 weeks late and at no point did I have any idea what was happening or have a way to track that down. I made my order through an online only company and they outsource their logistics to a third party who exists only to deliver and track packages. This is not a company having a weak spot in an ancillary part of the business, it is two separate businesses neither of which can remotely do their core competency or reason for existing.
Just tell him the bad news…you’re not his dad…or just delete…
Can someone explain why the cut off date for winter fuel payment is the 22nd September 1959…doesn’t anyone after this date, who becomes a pensioner, receive this payment…general enquiry…I’m getting no answers from DWP .
Was there a picture of a sexy good looking young lass attached?
I received a letter yesterday, from England, that I have been waiting for for 2 weeks. It had my address on it stipulating FRANCE however somehow it passed by Madrid, SPAIN. I know this as it had a big sticker on it telling me.
It’s just an arbitrary cut off date. The payments go out in October so they pick the cutoff date as the end of the 3rd full week in September. I suppose that date will always be just after the Autumn Equinox, but I don’t think there is any particular logic about it other than identifying people who will be pensioners for the whole of the winter.
I will be in December…but no fuel payment or help…and December is still in winter?..or it was last year…
As I said, it’s an arbitrary cut-off. I suspect the logic was that they wanted to target people who are living off a pension for the whole period, as those younger will have been earning a wage during some of that time
As I don’t know much about pensions ..I do know…mine is due 31/12…I couldn’t understand the reasoning of a September date…
Yeah, you’re probably right that it belongs in the politics section yet we don’t know how or why everyone is claiming benefits so we can’t assume that anyone is fiddling - but it’s fair to say by comparison that those billionaires are wilfully avoiding tax and this sort of money is very likely to dwarf anything that a family in our neighbourhood may have claimed, so I feel this is a valid comparison and relevant to this point of discussion.
It’s very easy to punch down at those on the lowest rungs of society, and many politicians or those in the media are only to happy to do this, labelling people as scroungers whereas those who have the most are not always scrutinised in the same way as they find ways to siphon off what should be their fair share of tax.
Your point regarding benefit fraud being committed sometimes by wealthy people just reinforces this for me, because this sounds more organised and large scale fraud, which is unlikely to be committed by those who may just sit around eating burgers all day.
I worked in the DWP, underpayment of benefits was always higher than overpayment. Also those who knew how to fiddle the system knew how to get away with it.
Sad really but usually most cases that get found out are people who often just mess it up.
Anyhow it’s heart procedure day tomorrow wish me all positive vibes…
Just remember..it only hurts when u laugh…good luck…
Procedure went fine, not the nicest thing but it is what it is and now they know that it’s a minor issue however they didn’t do a full ablation as the risk/reward wasn’t worth it. Good thing it’s monitored it’s on my records and I can live easily with it.
Also it’s a strong heart the specialist said.
Great news MH
Of course it is @mattyhurst, you’ve been training it while watching us for 20+ years…
You’ll need it today…
Yeah had a bit of a flutter at 2-1 but yeah nothing else which suggests there wasn’t much from them.
