What's happening?

I don’t suppose anything can prepare you for this…but all you can do is listen and try and help.

You’re in my thoughts.

My Mum went through this, it is a horrible thing, but the odd moments are worth waiting for.Not that they last!We thought it was harder on Dad though.

Going through similar with my Dad.

Broke his leg Christmas Day and has been in hospital ever since. He had dementia beforehand but it has deteriorated further considerably after the leg operation. Post operation dilerium they call it. Makes me wonder if it was worth having the operation over just immobilising the leg and letting it heal naturally.

Now we have real ups and downs with some brutal mood swings. You can barely have a conversation, as the ability to turn a thought into a sentence isn’t there anymore. The full range of memory seems to have completely gone on a bad day.

So we’re being pushed to look at nursing homes. There’s been naff all guidance on how things work financially, he qualifies for support by all accounts.

My Mum’s in a nursing home. She qualifies for support because her condition is deemed to be beyond what might normally be expected through aging. I suspect your Dad would qualify too.

Yeah, we’ve been told that which is great. Thereafter, we’re clueless though. Some homes obviously cost more than the allowance. We don’t know, how that works from there on. What happens to his pension etc.

There’s also a similar question on how my mother affords to live alone in their house. She will not want to move and I cannot blame her for that. It’s just not the most cost efficient home, and if course everything has gone stupid expensive now.

Just saw this, mate. Very late, but I too wish you all the possibly best to come out of this. I also send you a lot of strength and courage in order to handle the next few weeks.

And that my friend …is where the headaches start…my dad had a stroke…he was deemed non fit for home on medical reasons, so had to go in a nursing home…they took their fees from his bank account…but I looked into it, saw a programme on tv…which said if a person had to go into a nursing home on medical teasons, there should be no charges…this rule may have changed now, as it is all means tested…but boy did I fight…and he got £8K back…so look into every detail…

Yes W, you’re right. My Mum doesn’t have to pay for the home on those grounds. I guess it’s like an extension of being in hospital in a way.

was doing the grocery shopping the day, took my 2 year with me.

put the shopping in the car, then we went to the Adidas Outlet store,

on the way back to the car and carrying my lad
i heard a man shouting loudly whilst he was pushing a trolley.
In the trolley was young boy, maybe 4 years old

I FUCKING TOLD YOU…
YOU BETTER FUCKING BEHAVE or something like it
I’M FUCKING SICK OF THIS…

i got to my car and it was parked directly in front of the man who had been shouting. I got my boy into his seat.
then i saw the shouting man grab the child, hold him then squeeze him tightly whilst shouting at him, there was rage in the man face

so i took my time, getting into into the car, walked round the car, checked the tyres, thinking should I say something to him?

checked what was in my boot of my car, I found a lug wrench, just incase!

sat in my car and watched the man, who was now in his car with the kid in the back seat, he had turned to the lad and started shouting at him again.
he then got out of the car went to the rear door, pulled it open and started screaming and pointing at the boy.

I was fuming and ready to get the wrench lug out, but i had my 2 year old with me in my car.

so I left it, but I’m annoyed at myself…

should i have stepped in?

if this cunt is like that in public, what’s he’s like behind closed doors?

wish i taken his reg. number and reported him!

Hope the kid is ok,

I’m sure the boy is fine - On a more lighter note…

A mate told me he was in a flower shop once picking out a nice bunch for his wife… He said there was another guy in there who had just been served but for some reason, had hurried out of the shop before he collected his change… the lady serving him once realising this hurried after him… my mate, thinking he is the best comedian ever, said he couldn’t resist such opportunity and so he said in a loud voice that other customers could hear… “Run Florist Run” :0)

I’m guessing he will dine out on that story for many more years to come eh

Do you have a dash cam in your car that may have recorded the license plate?

That probably would have been the best idea as the police and social services would be better placed to deal with it. It’s always possible that the individual himself is having some sort of mental breakdown.

Unfortunately i didn’t get his reg, kicking myself that i didn’t note it.

I kept thinking parenting is stressful at times and kids can be a pain in tha ass.

Doesn’t mean you treat them like that man did.

Next time i will step in

Certainly report it. If the individual was having a breakdown of some sort, the police are trained to deal with that.

Manchester Airport JD Sports update!

No sign of LFC or MCFC kits, but plenty of truly bizarre MUFC clobber.
Attacked by seagulls? Some kind of Cantona hommage?
