Is that another brother of Jude and Jobe?

Mrs had the shunt system put back in on Wednesday, so far she’s doing really well since then, even the smiles are back, slowly regaining some movement too. Treatment and care is really good, and for my part, the communication with the doctors and staff is refreshingly great.
But then she’ll have yet another operation tomorrow, where they’ll reimplant that large piece of skull…hopefully that goes well, apparently that has a quite a high rate of complications during and especially after the operation. On the other hand, if it goes well, hopefully this should be the last operation for a while…So, fingers crossed.

Great to hear the good news regarding Mrs CL’s smiles and movement. Fingers crossed for a successful operation tomorrow and her aftercare. :+1::nerd_face:

Makes a change from drought conditions though doesn’t it?

It does but about a month, 6 weeks ago someone turned the tap on and it pretty much hasn’t stopped since.

Thankfully not continuous just lots and lots of showers. Unrelenting to be honest.

Worth noting Tryweryn which they renamed Llyn Celyn (sore point) is still miles off being full. I doubt Llyn Fyrnwy, Brenig and Clywedog are much better.

That’s probably much better for the local environment right? Gives the soil a chance to absorb it rather than have it flood?

Hard to say to be honest. Some of those showers have been really heavy resulting in microflooding that probably doesn’t help much. I’m surprised that the reservoir levels haven’t recovered. I’d have thought we’d be well on the way given the amount of rain we’ve had.

I’m hoping we dont get a long, wet Winter but the signs aren’t great at the moment. I remember one about 10 years ago, where it was utterly miserable few months but it also resulted in some weird weather. We were getting harsh frosts in May that that year. This has that feeling to it again. Autumn feels really late this year.

I went for a day’s adventure training (canoing and Canadian kayaking) with my TA unit on Llyn Brenig on 1st July 1992. We had a break for lunch at midday. While we were sood there p155ed wet through in our wetsuits it started snowing. Feckin July and it was snowing. :scream:

It took a hell of a lot of cajoling to get us back on the water for the afternoon session.

Yeah it can get pretty bleak up there.

I nearly qualified for Wales junior fly fishing team there many many years ago. No snow that day.

October was really mild and even now it’s in double figures most days here on the Wirral. But we’ve had lots of rain too.

Probably get wetter from all the phlegm generated pronouncing those places.

Couldn’t watch the game, was at the hospital. Mrs started speaking a few words for the first time again. Better than a any football match to be honest.
