RedAlways messaged me a year ago about the state of the forums and how it has changed. That’s been building for a while now.
Sweeting will be a tough loss, he and I had similar views on player development and will miss his scouting perspective.

Everton!
Not necessary. When the TIA forums were taken down and the TAN forums started, there was a noticeable dropoff in membership and subsequently more polarization of opinions. But the majority were still fairly centered in their perspectives
As COVID happened, it became more fractured. Long-time members dropped off over time and I would be willing to guess we are down to 25 active posters at this point
I haven’t the time to engage actively anymore, my son’s sports are 6 days a week now. But every time I try to catch up, it’s like trying to sift through the wreckage to find any substance.
Why did my post in the Isak thread mocking Newcastle for being salty about us buying Ekitike just get deleted?
I deleted it because the gif was hurting my eyes.
I’d generally ask everyone to refrain a bit from using gifs . Used sparingly, in order to to hammer home a good point, or to make a spectacularly funny one, they are sound. But seeing dozens of gifs clogging up every single thread each and every day is a bit too much.
I’m not trying to start something, but its very weird to have mods delete posts that broke no rule just because they personally don’t like it and not saying anything about it.
Do with that feedback what you will.
This is nothing against you. I’ve deleted dozens of similar posts in the last few days, from a lot of various posters.
Too many gifs = not good.
100%
Load of bollox wading through weak “humour”…cue a load of stupid gifs getting posted.
Perhaps a thread for GIFs. If someone feels like posting one they do it in the GIF thread then I can avoid them.
There are some people who are more visual than verbal, and for them, a gif might express more than a sentence.
Personally, I find a lot of gifs baffling as I don’t get the pop culture references, or the posters intentions are unclear.
I think you’re starting to overdo it. I was recently advised to just keep scrolling when I see things I don’t like; that might be helpful in this case, too.
For me personally, gifs are extremely helpful when I don’t have the necessary knowledge to express myself in English.
Besides, it would probably seem a bit ridiculous to new “younger members” here to see that some get so worked up about every little thing, which is mostly just meant in fun.
I haven’t a clue what your on about @Livvy perhaps you should post a GIF to make it clear.
I don’t myself find a problem with gifs and memes.
Scroll down if you don’t care for it. Move on. We are all adults here (for the most part atleast).
And as they say , a picture speaks a thousand words.
Just how I’ve always pictured you
Best thing about gifs. I live for ambiguity.
You mean you’re lefthanded and righthanded? How cool!
imagine needing two hands to do what @PeaachesEnRegalia does with a couple of fingers.

Covering my bases and all
I appreciate that mods are volunteering their time and they don’t have to. But to the point of trying to control how many gifs is considered too many? How many is too many? Why didn’t we have these “problems” in the past?
