When is a post off-topic?

(Some mods quite like gifs… :eyes:)

But do you pronounce them with a j-sound or a hard-g?

Hard G-sound, always!

One is too many. Unnecessary trite nonsense.

Now that the can of worms has been opened… GIF, how do you pronounce it?

  • Jif - like “gym” or “giraffe”
  • Gif - like “gift” without the t (hard G)
  • Picture - fucking nerds!

The G in GIF stands for graphics, incidentally, not jraphics.

Also, I’m aware the original creator of them has said it’s a J sound, but, as a rebuttal, I shall simply say “fuck him”…

Yep, Graphics Interchange Format.

For me, you kinda have to go with what the inventor calls it.

I refer the gentleman to my earlier rebuttal :joy:

To be fair, I’m too much of a gentleman to post what Steve Wilhite’s reply to you was

If I may ask, when is a gif off-topic?

The poor mods! A little plea to ease down on the gifs and then it’s a stampede :joy:

Glad nobody takes themselves too seriously. Happy weekend my fellow reds.

When is a post off-topic?

When it’s by A) Gasband, B) Flobs, or C) Me.

A, B and C!
But at least there’s a chance of art work when it’s A.
