Well, when you clear the ball you re taught not to do it centrally from the wing because then it can come back very quickly if there isn’t pressure up the pitch. On the wings it’s easier to corral. He could have gone back to Obama, had him clear it and then the defence could have adopted a more compact shape. Also, is he right footed? That clearance looked shorter than what he was intending to do.

If Amrabat has a talent, which I’m not convinced he does, then it is his range of passing. I think he was trying to ping it crossfield and mishit it. I think it was a pretty terrible error.

I did the same from midfield last night at kickabout and had to scramble back to defence to clear it as it triggered a counterattack

Amazing that after blowing huge wedges of cash on players (presumably at the manager’s request) the problem is still the owners. Suits me but if I were a manc, the pitchfork would be out.
