They really are desperateā€¦ He isnā€™t buying themā€¦

Football finance expert Kieran Maguire speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live about Elon Muskā€™s ā€œtakeover bidā€ for Manchester United:"There was a very severe reaction [in the stock market], if we take a look at the share price compared to about a week ago, it has gone up by about $500m.

"There is always interest in Man Utd even if the club has not performed well. However since they were taken over by the Glazer family, the share price has not sparkled.

"Even if Musk does not buy Man Utd, there is hope by fans others might be interested. The relationship between the fans and the Glazer family is quite toxic.

"There is greater organisation by fans, there are protests planned for the next fixture. What fans are now trying to do is target Man Utdā€™s commercial sponsors, to tell them it reflects poorly on their brand. There is some cancel culture in all this.

"The Glazers could walk away if the price is right, but they are convinced there is a bright future for Man Utd.

ā€œThings will improve for Man Utd, it will take time. Football is a game in which people are impatient. Any club where the wage bill is around Ā£174,000 a week should be performing better.ā€

They paid me over half a million a week to take them from second to first, or at least to challenge for the title.

We went backwards, at an alarming rate.

Nothing to do with me.

Iā€™m the great Ronaldo, I need a better stage than this on which to shine.

Oh, the thought of ManU fans deliberately damaging their commercial relations is just too delicious.

I think if they go down that path the Glazerā€™s will sell up when it starts to bite. They donā€™t care about Man Utd, their fans, or the game. They just care about the money, and if that is jeopardized it will be one final payday, to the tune of several billion. Since I canā€™t stand Man Utd I have been happy to see their struggles, but as a football fan there surely has to be a regulation put in place to stop leveraged buy out specialists. Itā€™s what nearly sunk us, and it should be outlawed from the game.

But if they sell up, who would buy? Chances are it would be another nation state, since there doesnā€™t appear to be any meaningful restriction that way.

Obviously I donā€™t want them to have access to his money, but United and Musk would be a perfect match. Both deplorable.

But wait two weeks to do soā€¦it is brilliant. Couldnā€™t be more calculated to damage the club and undermine Ten Haag. We just need to perform our part and show up to play for the first time this season.

If itā€™s a nation state then perhaps Dubai would the most obvious candidate. Saudi, Abu Dhabi and Qatar already have their football playthings. If not them, then I suppose it would be another American consortium.

Utd moving from De Jong to Rabiot to now Casemiro is pretty good evidence that John Murtaugh is just Ed Woodwood in a wig. As always with Utd, its not just their inability to get their preferred deal its their pathetic counter productive flailing they do in response that makes it even worse.

Xhaka sitting at home now probably thinking ā€œWhen these gonna come in for me.ā€

The other striking element is how quickly the Casemiro interest has hit the press, perhaps 24 hours after the Rabiot transfer appeared to collapse? It is clearly far more important inside that club right now to be seen to be chasing prominent talent than to actually take steps to procure suitable players.

They are after our former target too.

Yes, I do inject Botox into my cock. I have also had surgery to remove the seam running between my sack. I always thought it was a sign that I was actually two people, stitched into one, so I removed all evidence of this possibility.
