One woud think that the Merseyside Police has better things to do than interview someone under caution for smashing a phone out of somebodyās hand.
Much about noting and probably only happend because it is Ronaldo.
I believe he did, and also invited them to OT. I think it was rejected.
I read that he invited the fan to the next United game at OT.
As an Everton fan I think the child already suffered enough.
Havenāt seen anything about the phone being replaced.
I love it.
the problem isnāt money, itās upper management itself. another investor isnāt going to help if the board of United has zero aspirations beyond raking money out of the club
long may it continueā¦
Phones are expensive and itās still criminal damage. It was a high profile incident at the time and if the person who owned the phone made a complaint, then the Police have to deal with it.
At the time of the incident, I think that the mother claims that CR7 āassaultedā and ābruisedā her 14-year-old son, not sure if she had filed the compliant to the club/police, which might have resulted in the investigation.
The incident was discussed in part 1:
If Ronaldo apologized, replaced the phone, and as a good will gesture invited them to be his guests at a match, then thatās all fair enough and should draw a line under it.
The police would have been involved if a complaint was made, so evidently it was. The fact that Ronaldo was questioned under police caution might strengthen the hand of the boy and his family, should they wish to pursue Ronaldo for some sort of damages.
Heās a cock, but I hope they donāt view it as a payday.
Yeah right like the police follow up on every complaint, it Was Ronaldo thatās why.
Much about nothing he offert him seats on OT and probably paid for the phone. Some people ā¦
I believe Man United tried to hush this up.
They promised to get this boy a brand new mobile phone on a long term contract but they failed in negotiations and ended up offering the boy a phone with a smashed screen, a few buttons missing that has not been relevant since 5 years ago from a shop in brentford.
The boy and his mum were not impressed.
This works both ways though. If the police didnāt follow up on the complaint, they would be wide open to accusations of favoritism, since Ronaldo is rich and famous.
Iām glad they questioned him, so it has run its course properly.
It was also a fairly well publiced incident with a lot of mobile, cctv and sky footage all very easily available, so not exactly something that would be overly hard for the police to follow up/investigate.
Sounds like their standard negatiations then
ManU sources seem to be getting the message out that Rabiot deal collapsed because of pay. That is weird on two counts:
- Very odd that they would let a deal collapse because of that, given their current pay structure
- What the hell was Rabiot asking that even ManU would walk away?!?
Either the chance to win a trophy or the country of San Marino
Ā£10 million for the best right back on the League?
Bargain
It appears that a majority of Twitter users encouraging fans not to attend the Liverpool game are based outside the UK and may never even have attended a game at Old Trafford.
