If the Christmas party was a good source of morale for employees across the organization, it is money well spent. At that point, going after it seems short sighted, especially with so much waste in the footballing operation with overpaid and under performing players.
Sir Jim seems like a typical billionaire - isolated from the masses, so doesn’t have any feel for what his actions are doing downstream, but he doesn’t care as long as it improves his spreadsheet.

Amorim has commented again that Rashford is not in the squad because of performances and application, and will stay that way until he meets the required standards. It’s something that has now gone far beyond football to be about him as a professional and a person.
The interest in this side story is overwhelming how bad they have been under him. We know that picking one high profile player and making an example of them is a time honoured way for a new manager to show their authority when coming into a new club, but the cynical side of me thinks this is a step beyond that - offering up catnip to a press too easily distracted from focusing on how shit they continue to be under their new savior

It’s starting to look unbecoming to me, almost like Rashford is being bullied. So much wrong there, but Rashford gets a kicking. To this extent? Not right.
Ideally he keeps on enjoying his high salary and when no takers come in for him, with an actual transfer fee on the table, they let him leave on a free, or better yet, on loan with Man Utd paying a good chunk of those wages. And at that point Rashford discovers his best form and makes them regret how they treated him.

Watchin United under Amorim I have less fear than them under Ten Hag, he doesn’t chane his formation and Arnie tactics will tear them to pieces when they come to Anfield.
