When the shit hits the fan, and they've got the wrong man, that's Amorim!

Casimiro has done an interview in which he says he wants to see his contract out and will continue to work hard.

I mean I’d do the same if I were stealing a sweet £350k a week

Unless Amorim dramatically turns things around over the remaining games, ManU will go into the summer window once again pondering whether to make moves around building the side around the ideas of a manager they don’t have confidence in. Exactly where they were in June 2024, anything less than wholehearted support for him (including major investment) will take him out at the knees before the season starts. The fans will of course be howling because they have seen this play out last year.

How many weeks will the review last this time?

By which he means ; Waddling around the middle of the park , committing needless fouls and occasionally getting his head on a corner kick. VFM!

It’s all baloney!

Amorin won’t have any backroom staff the way Sir Jim is going.

“Physios…nah Rueben, give the players a rub down yourself, oh and while you’re at it, take the players kit back to yours and ask your missus to run them through the washer - electricity is expensive these days and I’ve a football club to run, don’t you know”

Latest reports are that the players are getting jack of the tactics.

How shocking!!!

“What do you mean we have to run? What kind of shit tactic is that?”

Fans are becoming frustrated by the lack of progress, which on the one hand is hard on Amorim, but on the other is readily understandable, given the way they are being squeezed by the club, paying extra to watch the worst football United have produced in 35 years.

The danger is that, even if Amorim is the right man, his reputation will be so tarnished by the end of the season that he will never be able to inspire the belief successful management requires. This is a mess with no easy solutions.

One of the things that has been sticking in the back of my head for weeks is how well reported it has been that Amorim’s very strong preference was to wait until the summer, but reluctantly made the move when Utd insisted they would not be hiring a caretaker so it was now or never.

Stories like this don’t get out and then stay in circulation unless someone has a narrative to spin. So this really feels like Amorim people feeding this out as a way to buy him some sympathy over what they expected to be a difficult bedding in period. The problem with that is to succeed in a tough situation like this you really need a “burn the ships” mentality - it is success or glorious death. Without that at least part of your focus is on the ready made excuse you have in the back of your mind and some of your decisions end up being focused on covering your arse for when it inevitably blows up

Saw a bit of analysis of their finances pointing out how critical getting into the EL this year has been for a relatively poor financial performance overall - and emphasizing how critical it is for ManU to win the EL to get into the CL next year.

Makes the EL that bit more interesting

Yup, echoes what I said in here a while ago. If they get dumped out of the cups, they’re absolutely humped, becasuse it means another 10M comes off their Adidas sponsorship money, their matchday revenue goes down, their commercial revenue goes down, and they lose at least 60-70M in CL money.

I expect them to throw everything at the EL at this point, don’t be surprised to see mostly academy lads thrown into the PL matches around the EL dates.

£1bn pissed against the wall on interest.

One. Billion.

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry whilst laughing.

…the interest of lining the Glazer’s pockets

That they were allowed to buy the club the way they were and then milk it dry is the perfect illustration of what the kids online mean when railing against late stage capitalism.

Capitalism has failed!!

On the contrary, it works absolutely as it was intended.
