Over on’t Caf, they’ve locked their Amorim thread…
Someone opened a new Amorim thread but it got locked too…in under 15 minute.
Remember all those puff pieces the media was doing.
They’re really having an absolutely shite season, don’t they.
Teams just calmly coming to Old Trafford, beating them and beating them well is just no surprise these days.
Even in our worst days in my following, we were never this bad.
Roy Hodgson would like a word…
Nah, this is worse.
Though also down to our improvement in the second half of the season.
Fair to say the Europa League takes top priority now. The same Cup they stuck their nose up at for a generation.
Like last years FA cup, they just cant can they?
Over to you Real Sociedad.
And to this Zubi bloke that must really be pleased with his decision to play in a mid table La Liga team, you better be good mate.
I haven’t been arsed to do a direct comparison, but I’d genuinely be shocked if Roy was doing worse over the same number of games than Amorim is doing for this lot.
I actually expect them to beat Sociedad over the two legs. Sociedad are very middling, they defend pretty well, but can’t score for toffee. If they can take it to Old Trafford with a 1 or two goal lead then they have a chance if they just sit back and shithouse in the second leg, but I reckon even this United side will have too much for them. Haven’t seen the rest of United’s bracket, but there aren’t a lot of decent teams in that comp outside of maybe Lazio, Lyon, and Athletic Club.
A quick glance has shown me that United would likely face Lyon in a theoretical QF, so that’s probably where their season ends. In normal circumstances, you’d expect Amorim to be sacked at that point given United’s historical propensity of sacking managers that don’t qualify for CL football, but at this point I genuinely think they can’t afford to sack another manager. The cost of paying out his and his staff’s contracts would likely see them in PSR trouble. I reckon he’s in way over his head and hasn’t a clue how to manage a team the size of United in a league like the PL. They’re proper fucked, in other words.
We were 4 points clear of relegation zone when Hodgson was sacked. The difference is we’ve only appoint a ‘Roy’ once whereas united have had about 6 of them
I’d still like to see a PPG average from Roy’s first 16 league matches in charge vs Amorim’s.
Well get your calculator out ya lazy bastard

Well get your calculator out ya lazy bastard
First 16 league games:
Hodgson: 1.38
Amorim: 1.13
In all competitions, Transfermarkt has Hodgson on 1.52 over 31 games and Amorim 1.50 over 24.
That’s pretty bad all things considered.

Well there it is plain as day.
Apologize, @WeeJoe

Over on’t Caf, they’ve locked their Amorim thread…
Settle down @Sithbare, they reopened it again.
The best thing about that thread over the last few months is how the people defending Amorim increasingly look stupid and their arguments keep looking more and more idiotic with each passing game.

Although I am losing confidence in his abilities, we must not fall into the temptation of changing manager before he has had a chance to have a pre-season and bring in suitable candidates. If he is getting absolutely nowhere by Dec 2025, then maybe we can consider playing low-block counter-attacking football to stabilise things. In which case, getting Rashford back and buying players suited to this style is preferred. Then we can go down the Southgate route. After all, this brand of football is not crazy hard to coach? We may need to learn to crawl properly again before dreaming of running.

“We can consider playing low block counter-attacking football”
What the fuck do they call what they’re currently doing? They play 5 at the back almost all of the time, and usually one or two defensive mids. Fucking nonsense.
