Who do you wish to sell

Didn’t Mabaya put in a good shift at RB in preseason? Seem to remember he looked like an exciting prospect.

Yes, I was just talking about CBs who play FB.

I’d love to see Mabaya go back into midfield. RB is very clogged up and he bribgs a great deal of pace and energy which we can use.

I meant that I would rather have an “Ake”-like (or different to Tsimikas, who can be more comparable to Robbo) backup for Trent on the right side than on the left for Robbo.

Problem or not, the right side isn’t great at the moment (of course it’s also linked to usually our weaker CB at RCB, RCM and Salah’s recent form). Trent is having certain issues, Gomez really isn’t a solution when we’re all fit and in normal form, he can do a job sometimes. Milner’s mainly done (surprisingly?) well at RB when he’s played, but that won’t last forever.

I don’t know, impossible to tell. If we had a performing other more natural RB, I think Trent might have been “rotated” here and there. Robbo got a few extra games for rest when in other times he would’ve been straight back on the pitch. We have the example of Bajcetic this season, and who saw that coming.

I really like Chambers. If a prospect like that “happens” from within, then that would of course be the best scenario to sell Tsimikas, if we can get a good offer to make a profit on him. But we’ll see if Luke can get to that level.

Do you think he’s technically good enough to play through the middle at Liverpool?

I don’t think he is technically good enough to play anywhere for us right now. He needs a lot more football but unfortunately is consistently injured.

Hopefully gets a loan move next season.

This 12days ago… Now… I’m definitely convinced Jurgen reads all our posts on TAN… Trent has been much improved in our last two games :0)

Hopefully not all of them.

Yeah, he’d definitely be weighing in on some of the political stuff.

Joe Gomez he has become Lovren :flushed:

Hasn’t become, has been for some time, it’s just being exposed now

Rather have Lovren back tbh….at least he was comically shit, Gomez is just painfully shit.

Plus he’d clatter anyone getting physical with Mo

Gomez hasn’t been at his best, but he is fine for a third or fourth choice central defender, who can also cover at right back.

After other areas of the pitch are addressed, not least the midfield, then fine, let’s take a look at the likes of Gomez and assess what’s what.

Assuming he’s okay with that role. Remember, before signing the contract extension everyone was afraid that he’d leave in search of a regular first team spot

That’s fair enough too.

If he instigates a move because he sees himself more highly than we do, sell!

If it is up to us to instigate a move, and he is happy here, keep! We have other, more pressing areas of the team to address.

Is he really fine for 3rd or 4th choice?

We can’t just keep relegating bad players to squad roles, especially when your first choice option (Konate) is prone to missing a fair few games.

We could quite easily find a better 4th choice defender than Gomez, he plays at a very poor level.

And anyone who thinks Fabinho should still be here next season is beyond all help. Whether it’s released on a free, loaned out to the Portuguese second division, whatever…he should not be in the squad next year. Dreadful.

I view Gomez more highly than you do. I would say yes he is fine for third or fourth choice.

Mind you, even if I’m wrong and Gomez is worse than I think, I still don’t see changing him as more of a priority than sorting out the midfield.

Like you I am concerned about the amount of football that Konate misses though. He should be becoming the new kingpin, but if he can’t stay fit enough for long enough, we need a new defender who will be more robust and good enough to be a mainstay in the side.

What did he do wrong tonight? Did he tell Alisson to kick it straight at a Madrid lad? Did shine a penlight in Fabinho’s eyes when he was taking a routine pass under control?

No, he did nothing wrong.

Klopp decided to substitute him (again) as a reward for another stellar performance.
