Don’t think so. He was a top prospect in the city academy and captained Elliott’s euro U21 winning side a couple of summers ago but I don’t recall anything meaningful

We could do with full backs on either side, the two we have currently are such glaring weaknesses.
Try to hammer out a deal with Real to get TAA back.
Alternatively, buy Alex Scott and move Dom to RB.

Rather concerning that such glaring weaknesses still haven’t been addressed. There’s time to fix them of course, but that window is closing fast.
Both full-back positions, and midfield alone need strengthening. We need to bring in genuine quality though. Not simply decent players.
Same as the beginning of the window. RW, RB and a more defensively minded midfielder. It’s kind of hilarious that everyone knew these were the positions to strengthen and we still haven’t got any in with three days left.

LB position IMO we should wait for another season to get Hall, who is one of the best in the league right now. Also, Kerkez and even Tsimikas are less hopeless than Frimpong.
OTOH, the RB and/or midfield should be strengthened ASAP.
I have no problem at all with any of the young lads on the bench today being involved or getting minutes. But it is a concern we had 4 of them on the bench, none of whom have really established themselves at this level (not even Rio) when there isn’t really any one who missed out today who we can reasonably expect to come back any time soon and contribute. Barcola makes a difference, but with Harvey and Chiesa basically failing to kick on in preseason we do feel short another player or two short even after Barcola comes in

If ww are talking a left back then I do like Hall, but he plays in a defensive minded side as far as full backs are concerned.
The on I like is Truffert at Bournemouth, will be interesting to see if he continues as he did last year, looks very good in possession.
And he´s English, so homegrown.
I can´t see us buying any homegrown wingers or even midfielders, so probably at fullback is our best shot.
Can he defend though?
Was watching Minteh vs Bournemouth and he got rinsed about 3 or 4 times quite easily.
Couldn’t answer that as I have only ever seen Bournemouth highlights and he looks a step above both Kerkez and Frimpong going forward.
But people want Trent back and he Couldn’t.
Yeah I havent seen him much either.
Wouldn´t surprise me if he is much better on the ball. Kerkez and Frimpong just have no passing game, even if Frimpong is a threat with his pace getting behind.

I like Minteh btw… but if he will only be healthy in November I would very much like to keep Gakpo and add that DM. We can reconsider in Jan.
Barcola, Munoz, Gakpo, Rio plus Koumas… I think we are fine there.
Let’s get that DM and maybe a RB.

Maybe, but Brighton may find a deal more favourable now than in January precisely because Minteh will be out for the next few months…
Just for fun:
I´d keep Gakpo for now, sign Lamine Camara and Kees Smit (very promising passer and more mobile than Wharton). 60- 90 mil maybe.
Then in January or next summer buy a winger, be it Rayan or whoever, and look for the best English or British full back around in January. Sell or release Gravenberch, Chiesa, Endo, Elliott. and rely on youth more for depth.
Seems like we’re selling Gakpo, I don’t think keeping him is an option anymore.
I’d buy two forwards anyway, in addition to Barcola. Or buy one and get one on loan, that’ll do as well. And definitely if injured Minteh is one of them.
If not, if it’s Gakpo out and Minteh in, these are our forward options until he’s ready:
Isak, Wirtz, Barcola, Munoz, Ngumoah, Koumas.
Chiesa as well, I suppose, but he seems like a purely theoretical option by now.
Beyond that.. Jayden Danns?
If it’s just Gakpo out and Minteh in, that’s a wild gamble, banking on nobody getting injured or suspended between now and January. I don’t think we’ll do that.
So it could (should) be a busy couple of days.
