Yeah, on second thoughts I’d swerve Summerville. Not good enough. The pace caught the eye recently, but we need better than him on the wing.
I stand by Anderson and Murillo as two from the lower teams, but they would be expensive.

Ships gone, but Caicedo would be my buy, robust, energetic and gets stuck in, also reasonably secure in possession
When they signed him, I was convinced he was going to be a massive flop that only West Ham could sign. Fast forward few months and he’s become one of the most promising midfielders in the league and if they stay up, he will be one of the main reasons behind it.

Did not want to post this in the Salah thread.
Possibly no CL(money), not the £35m for Elliott we’ve expected and Salah likely to leave on a free.
Going to be a great summer.
Haven’t a few players done this and then agreed a few elsewhere.

The CL money earned from this season will be there to cover spending for next season though wont it?
Depending on how the club’s internal review goes, there should still be money to spend. Plus Mo’s wages off the books should free up space too.
Oh fuck…
We are becoming Manchester Yanited…

There will be money to spend but I doubt it will enough to build a squad that can compete on all fronts.
Said this before - expecting our starting11 to be stronger but weaker depth.
The next Fiorentina/Chelsea/Roma reject.
I might take a break from here, people make up some assumption in their head then spend time moaning about it.

Remains to be seen and will probably depend on what the market is like, but I think you are likely to be wrong.
If we have a coach who can’t get the best out of what we have, it doesn’t really matter what we spend.
If we have no CL next season, then we can get by with less than we would need for a tilt at the CL.
I think we will have depth, but there is a risk some of it will be quite young and need time to mature as we are probably in a phase where the club will prioritise any big spending on younger players..

And we could also do with blooding some youth. Maybe the plan for the next coach will be to trust them more in the short term, while the team aims to return to CL. Between Leoni, Jacquet, Bradley, Nyoni, Ngumoha, Morrison, Wirtz, Ekitike, there should be plenty of potential for the new coach to work with, maybe some others, too.
I also assume the club won’t be indulging in transfers statements like Isak anymore (even if they could), I’d expect them to tone down their approach a bit in terms of age and the status of the player.
We were always going to need two wingers, so the Mo news doesn’t really alter that. In fact, I’d say Mo being informed that he can’t expect to be first choice next year probably expedited this news.
I wouldn’t even dare trying to predict what our exact targets will be because there are still 4 different scenarios what we might qualify for (or not at all) through the league, question marks over the coach, sporting director, CEO of football, etc.
Last summer was already a surprise with the quantity of moves but also the weird combination of moves that didn’t make much sense to me when I looked at everything on September 1st. Who saw all of that happening? Not many, I’d say.
What we do in Salah’s position, who knows. Salah himself was one of the examples (a damn good and rare one how it all turned out) how to improve a certain position (in which the season before he came we had Mane) and it’s not always the most obvious one.
I’ll be patient and curious, as always.
I’m on the Phil Thompson bus. He recently predicted we will win the league next season. I’ll have some of that.
As things stand we are massively short of what we should be. It’s all been done to death, but I think Slot is close to the end here.
A new man will breathe new life into it. We will have a few smashing players coming back from injury to add quality and depth. And I fully expect us to make some signings too, in addition to the highly rated Jacquet.
How many, and at what price point, remains to be seen. I’m certain we will spend and will have a team and squad that can challenge for the title. If we miss out on the CL we will obviously cut our cloth accordingly, but the headroom we have in PSR will still mean we should be able to do some useful business.
I’m chilled. It has been a dog turd of a season. We might get a silver lining at the end with some silverware, but if not, I think under a new man we will be well placed to give it a bloody good go next season.
Up the reds.
I would buy a right winger.
I’m Mystic Meg, and I’m seeing a need there!
Give us your XI for next season.
